Investigating the Antiproliferative Activity of Synthetic Troponoids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Troponoid (more commonly, tropone/tropolone) refers to a family of naturally occurring compounds with a unique seven-membered aromatic ring. As with many secondary metabolites, many of the tropolones display a wide range of biological activity.

Enhanced and Selective Antiproliferative Activity of Methotrexate-Functionalized-Nanocapsules to Human Breast Cancer Cells (MCF-7)

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2018
Methotrexate is a folic acid antagonist and its incorporation into nanoformulations is a promising strategy to increase the drug antiproliferative effect on human breast cancer cells by overexpressing folate receptors.

Chemoproteomic Identification of AKT2 as a Paclitaxel‐Binding Protein via C─C Bond‐Linked Probe PTX‐4 in Paclitaxel‐Resistant Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Breast cancer remains one of the most prevalent malignancies among women, and taxane‐based chemotherapies such as paclitaxel and docetaxel are central to standard treatment regimens. However, drug resistance in breast cancer limits therapeutic efficacy and contributes to recurrence and metastasis.

The Structure–Antiproliferative Activity Relationship of Pyridine Derivatives [PDF]

open access: yes
Pyridine, a compound with a heterocyclic structure, is a key player in medicinal chemistry and drug design. It is widely used as a framework for the design of biologically active molecules and is the second most common heterocycle in FDA-approved drugs ...

Antiproliferative activity of arborescidine alkaloids and derivatives

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2009
Current issues in cancer research involve searching for novel anticancer compounds that can be used to regulate the cell cycle and lead to more effective treatments of tumors. In this study, it was hypothesized that possessing a cyclic alkaloid similar to harmine, arborescidines can disrupt the proliferative state of cancer cells and block the activity

HNRNPU K181 Lactylation Drives Cervical Cancer Growth by Upregulating PHGDH and Reprogramming Serine Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate in cervical cancer induces HNRNPU K181 lactylation, opposed by NAA50‐mediated acetylation and suppressed by Pazopanib. This lactylation enhances HNRNPU binding to PHGDH pre‐mRNA exon 1, maintaining exon 1‐containing transcripts and mRNA stability, thereby activating serine metabolism.

New Catechol Derivatives of Safrole and Their Antiproliferative Activity towards Breast Cancer Cells

open access: yesMolecules, 2011
Catechols were synthesized from safrole. Nine derivatives were prepared and assessed for antiproliferative effects using different human cell lines. The in vitro growth inhibition assay was based on the sulphorhodamine dye to quantify cell viability. The

A Catalytic Osmium Redox Couple Collapses Cancer Redox Balance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A stable Os(III)/Os(IV) redox couple is developed to disrupt the tumor cell redox balance by concurrently catalyzing ROS generation and GSH depletion. Osmium‐treated cells exhibit multiple cell death pathways, including apoptosis, ferroptosis, and immunogenic cell death.
