Metabolic and Physiological Regulation of Aspartic Acid-Mediated Enhancement of Heat Stress Tolerance in Perennial Ryegrass

open access: yesPlants, 2022
Aspartate is the most critical amino acid in the aspartate metabolic pathway, which is associated with multiple metabolic pathways, such as protein synthesis, nucleotide metabolism, TCA cycle, glycolysis, and hormone biosynthesis. Aspartate also plays an

Enzyme Nanosheet-Based Electrochemical Aspartate Biosensor for Fish Point-of-Care Applications

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
Bacterial infections in marine fishes are linked to mass mortality issues; hence, rapid detection of an infection can contribute to achieving a faster diagnosis using point-of-care testing.

Bacterial aspartic proteinases [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1997
Regions of genomic DNA encoding putative aspartic proteinase domains were amplified by PCR from the bacterial species, Escherichia coli and Haemophilus influenzae. Expression of each of these DNA fragments resulted in the accumulation of the corresponding recombinant proteins in insoluble aggregates.

Aspartate metabolic flux promotes nitric oxide to eliminate both antibiotic-sensitive and -resistant Edwardsiella tarda in zebrafish

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
IntroductionMetabolic reprogramming potentiates host protection against antibiotic-sensitive or -resistant bacteria. However, it remains unclear whether a single reprogramming metabolite is effective enough to combat both antibiotic-sensitive and ...

Resource plasticity-driven carbon-nitrogen budgeting enables specialization and division of labor in a clonal community

open access: yeseLife, 2020
Previously, we found that in glucose-limited Saccharomyces cerevisiae colonies, metabolic constraints drive cells into groups exhibiting gluconeogenic or glycolytic states.

An Asp to Strike Out Cancer? Therapeutic Possibilities Arising from Aspartate’s Emerging Roles in Cell Proliferation and Survival

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2021
A better understanding of the metabolic constraints of a tumor may lead to more effective anticancer treatments. Evidence has emerged in recent years shedding light on a crucial aspartate dependency of many tumor types.

Chloroquine Triggers Cell Death and Inhibits PARPs in Cell Models of Aggressive Hepatoblastoma

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2020
Background: Hepatoblastoma (HB) is the most common pediatric liver malignancy. Despite advances in chemotherapeutic regimens and surgical techniques, the survival of patients with advanced HB remains poor, underscoring the need for new therapeutic ...

Studying the Excitotoxic Amino Acids Impact on the Degree of Impairment of Consciousness in Purulent Meningitises in Children

open access: yesZdorovʹe Rebenka, 2013
The study revealed a strong and significant inverse correlation between the level of excitatory neurotransmitter amino acid of glutamate, aspartate in the blood serum and level of consciousness according to Glasgow Coma Scale.

Antidepressant Effect of Shaded White Leaf Tea Containing High Levels of Caffeine and Amino Acids

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
The young leaves of green tea become lighter in color than usual when protected from sunlight by a shading net for about two weeks while growing. These leaves are called “shaded white leaf tea” or SWLT.
