Acylation of aspartate aminotransferase [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1967
1. Acetylation of aspartate aminotransferase from pig heart inhibits completely the enzymic activity when the coenzyme is in the amino form (pyridoxamine phosphate) or when the coenzyme has been removed, but not when the coenzyme is in the aldehyde form (pyridoxal phosphate). 2.

Establishing an assay to evaluate d‐amino acid oxidase enzyme kinetics and inhibition using WST‐8 redox dye

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated a novel WST‐8‐based assay for evaluating d‐Amino acid oxidase (DAO) inhibitors. We confirmed its effectiveness using known inhibitors and found that uremic toxins possess relatively weak inhibitory activity compared to existing drugs.

presentation_1_In Vivo Multimodal Magnetic Resonance Imaging Changes After N-Methyl-d-Aspartate-Triggered Spasms in Infant Rats.PDF

open access: yes, 2018
ObjectiveDespite the serious neurodevelopmental sequelae of epileptic encephalopathy during infancy, the pathomechanisms involved remain unclear. To find potential biomarkers that can reflect the pathogenesis of epileptic encephalopathy, we explored the ...

Selective Plasmatic Amino Acid Alterations as a Potential Biomarker for Pathological Stratification in Autism Spectrum Disorders

open access: yesBiomedicines
Background: Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) are neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by repetitive behaviors and social interaction deficits. While the severity of ASD is classified into levels (1–3) by the DSM-5, reliable circulating biomarkers to

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Regulación de la utilización del aspartato por los astrocitos durante la prelactancia

open access: yesUniversitas Scientiarum, 2009
Regulation of the use of aspartate by the astrocytes during the presuckling period. During the perinatal period the concentration ofN-acetyl-L-aspartate (NAA) produced by neurons increases.

The crystal structure of the Borrelia burgdorferi nicotinamidase BBE22 resolves a long‐standing annotation error

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of Borrelia burgdorferi nicotinamidase (PncA/BBE22) reveals the correct full‐length protein initiated from a non‐canonical AUU start codon. The structure validates previous biochemical findings and resolves a long‐standing annotation error, demonstrating that the truncated database sequence is structurally incompatible with the ...

Determination of aspartate kinase in maize tissues. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Lysine, threonine, methionine and isoleucine are synthesized from aspartate in a branched pathway in higher plants. Aspartate kinase plays a key role in the control of the aspartate pathway.
