The roles of CYP2C19 and CYP3A4 in the in vitro metabolism of β‐eudesmol in human liver: Reaction phenotyping and enzyme kinetics

open access: yesPharmacology Research &Perspectives, Volume 11, Issue 6, December 2023., 2023
CYP2C19 and CYP3A4 are major CYP enzymes in β‐eudesmol metabolism. As a component of AL, β‐eudesmol as a substrate and inhibitor of CYP2C19 and CYP3A4, has a high potential for drug‐drug interactions when AL is co‐administered with other herbs or conventional medicines. Abstract β‐eudesmol is a major bioactive component of Atractylodes lancea (AL).

The effect of a pharmaceutical ghrelin agonist on lifespan in C57BL/6J male mice: A controlled experiment

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 22, Issue 4, April 2023., 2023
In this experiment, C57BL/6J mice (N = 60/group, males) were tested for the influence of ghrelin agonism for perceived hunger, without caloric restriction, on longevity. Mice were fed a ghrelin agonist (LY444711; Eli Lilly) or placebo (Ctrl) until death. Treatment (GhrAg) animals were pair‐fed daily based on the group mean food intake consumed by Ctrls
