Influence of host defenses on the hepatic colonization of B16F10 melanoma cells
Clinical & Experimental Metastasis, 1988To investigate the significance of host immunity in metastasis we have simultaneously evaluated metastatic development and the tumoricidal action of host defenses in an experimental system for liver metastasis which involves the intrasplenic injection of B16F10 melanoma cells in syngeneic mice.

Substratum acidification and proteinase activation by murine B16F10 melanoma cultures
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Molecular Basis of Disease, 1993Murine B16F10 melanoma cells, cultured within 0.7% agarose gels containing the fluorescent proteinase substrate acetamidofluorescein-BSA, catalyze the hydrolysis of the substrate in the region immediately surrounding the cell. Fluorescence ratio measurements on hydrolyzed substrate correlate with an average pH of 5.5 +/- 0.2 in the adjacent substratum ...

Cytotoxic activity of various snake venoms on melanoma, B16F10 and chondrosarcoma
Life Sciences, 1987Elapid, crotalid and viperid venoms were screened in vitro and in vivo for cytotoxicity towards B16F10 melanoma and chondrosarcoma cell lines. The cytotoxic activity of elapid venoms was considerably higher than that of viperid or crotalid venoms. Elapid venoms disrupted the cell membrane within the first hour, leading to cell death.

Transient resistance to B16F10 melanoma growth and metastasis in CD43−/− mice
Melanoma Research, 2002CD43, the major transmembrane sialoglycoprotein of neutrophils, monocytes, T lymphocytes and platelets, is highly glycosylated and its high sialic acid content contributes to the strongly negative charge of cells. In this study the role of CD43 in melanoma development was addressed using CD43 -/- mice (null mutated for the corresponding gene or ...

Effect of Taurine on Viability and Proliferation of Murine Melanoma B16F10 Cells
2015This study was aimed at investigating the possible mechanism of the anti-proliferative effect of taurine on B16F10 melanoma cells using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) and neutral red assays and microscopic analysis. Apoptotic cells were detected by flow cytometry analysis.

Melanogenesis of Methyl Myristate Loaded Niosomes in B16F10 Melanoma Cells
Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology, 2013The objective of this study was to compare the charge effect of methyl myristate loaded in neutral (Brij 72/cholesterol at 7:3), cationic (Brij 72/cholesterol/dimethyl dioctadecyl ammonium bromide at 7:3:0.65) and anionic niosomes (Brij 72/cholesterol/dicetyl phosphate at 7:3:0.65) for physicochemical characteristics, cytotoxicity in fibroblasts and ...

In vitro and in vivo effects of polyhaemoglobin–tyrosinase on murine B16F10 melanoma
Melanoma Research, 2004Melanoma is an increasingly common fatal skin cancer. Many groups are carrying out research on potential treatments for melanoma. One of these approaches has shown that lowering tyrosine can inhibit the growth of melanoma in cell cultures and of B16BL6 melanoma in mice.

Effect of Taurine on Antioxidant Enzyme System in B16F10 Melanoma Cells
2009There is now increasing evidence that free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS) are involved in a variety of pathological events. Reactive oxygen species are produced during normal cellular function and lead to lipid peroxidation, massive protein oxidation and degradation.

To investigate the effect of mouse melanoma cell line B16F10-derived conditioned medium on the apoptosis of B16F10 cells.B16F10 cells were cultured in high-glucose DMEM in the presence of 10% fetal bovine serum, and upon cell confluence, the growth medium was replaced with serum-free high-glucose DMEM.
