Streamlining Vorinostat Synthesis: A Chemoenzymatic Continuous Flow Approach

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
A chemoenzymatic protocol for the synthesis of histone deacetylase inhibitor vorinostat has been established. Immobilized lipase from C. antarctica (imm‐CaLB) allowed the functionalization of suberanoyl acid 1 and further conversion to vorinostat via ion‐exchange resin treatment.

Corynebacterium glutamicum for Microbial Production of Chitin Oligosaccharides Using Modular Engineering

open access: yesFood Bioengineering, EarlyView.
Based on metabolic engineering, a chitin oligosaccharide (CHOSs) synthesis metabolic pathway was constructed in Corynebacterium glutamicum, establishing a cell factory for CHOSs synthesis through the selection of chassis cells and key enzymes. Utilizing this framework, multiple strategies were employed to enhance the GlcNAc and UDP‐GlcNAc synthesis ...

A Novel Plant‐Based Food to Enlarge the Access of Healthy Bioactive Compounds Typical of the Mediterranean Diet to Non‐Adherent People

open access: yesFood Frontiers, EarlyView.
The study showed that the intake of a novel plant‐based Mediterranean Diet‐based food (MD‐based food), which pooled different bioactive compounds characteristic of the Mediterranean Diet, in vitro orchestrated promising changes in the gut microbiota, microbiome and metabolome.
