1,2-Dimethyl-4,5-diphenylbenzene determined on a Bruker SMART X2S benchtop crystallographic system [PDF]
The title compound, C(20)H(18), has two crystallographically independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. The phenyl substituents of molecule A are twisted away from the plane defined by the central benzene ring by 131.8 (2) and -52.7 (3)degrees.

My2-Acetone-diacetone[my3-tris(trifluoromethyl)methanolato]bis[my2-tris(trifluoromethyl)methanolato]trilithium [PDF]
The title compound, [Li3(C4F9O)3(C3H6O)3], features an open Li/O cube with an Li ion missing at one corner. Three of the four bridging O atoms of the cube carry a fluorinated tert-butyl residue, whereas the fourth is part of an acetone molecule.

The Human Mast Cell Line HMC‐1 Binds and Responds to C3a but not C3a(desArg) [PDF]
Controversial results have been published in the past regarding the functional reactivity of different cell types to the anaphylatoxin C3a and its degradation product C3a(desArg). To understand better the effects of C3a and C3a(desArg) on human mast cells, the authors performed binding experiments and calcium mobilization studies on the human mast cell

Trends in Ocean S‐Isotopes May Be Influenced by Major LIP Events
Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact
An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Impact of environmental moisture on C(3)A polymorphs in the absence and presence of CaSO4 center dot 0.5 H2O [PDF]
The phenomenon of water vapour sorption by anhydrous C3A polymorphs both in the absence and in the presence of CaSO4·0·5 H2O was studied utilising dynamic and static sorption methods.

Europium-Labeled Synthetic C3a Protein as a Novel Fluorescent Probe for Human Complement C3a Receptor [PDF]
Measuring ligand affinity for a G protein-coupled receptor is often a crucial step in drug discovery. It has been traditionally determined by binding putative new ligands in competition with native ligand labeled with a radioisotope of finite lifetime.

ABSTRACT Platelet transfusions to treat bleeding complications use donor‐derived platelets stored at room‐temperature, that have a shelf‐life of only 5–7 days due to bacterial contamination risks. Cold‐stored and freeze‐dried platelets are being investigated for extending shelf‐life, but these still have the inherent challenge of donor‐dependency.

Impact of using yeast derivatives on the development of atypical aging in wines
Yeast derivatives (YDs) are commercial products obtained from yeast colonies grown in bioreactors then inactivated and dried. They are employed in winemaking to supply nitrogen (N), enhance yeast growth and remove unwanted compounds.
