Improving the Repeatability and Efficacy of Intradermal Electroporated Self-Replicating mRNA

open access: yesMolecular Therapy: Nucleic Acids, 2019
Local administration of naked self-replicating mRNA (sr-mRNA) in the skin or muscle using electroporation is effective but hampered by low repeatability.

Starting a Fire Without Flame: The Induction of Cell Death and Inflammation in Electroporation-Based Tumor Ablation Strategies

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2020
New therapeutic strategies and paradigms are direly needed for the treatment of cancer. While the surgical removal of tumors is favored in most cancer treatment plans, resection options are often limited based on tumor localization.

Calcium indicator loading of neurons using single-cell electroporation [PDF]

open access: yesPflügers Archiv - European Journal of Physiology, 2007
Studies of subcellular Ca(2+) signaling rely on methods for labeling cells with fluorescent Ca(2+) indicator dyes. In this study, we demonstrate the use of single-cell electroporation for Ca(2+) indicator loading of individual neurons and small neuronal networks in rat neocortex in vitro and in vivo.

Three-dimensional distribution of sensory stimulation-evoked neuronal activity of spinal dorsal horn neurons analyzed by in vivo calcium imaging. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
The spinal dorsal horn comprises heterogeneous populations of interneurons and projection neurons, which form neuronal circuits crucial for processing of primary sensory information.

Milk of calcium renal cyst and Liesegang structures

open access: yesHuman Pathology: Case Reports, 2019
Liesegang rings are rare and very few cases reported in literature in association with malignancy. Although they have no biologic or clinical significance, unique morphology and unfamiliarity with these structures are often confused with malignancy ...

Direct Therapeutic Applications of Calcium Electroporation to Effectively Induce Tumor Necrosis [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Research, 2012
Abstract Electroporation of cells with short, high-voltage pulses causes a transient permeabilization of cell membranes that permits passage of otherwise nonpermeating ions and molecules. In this study, we illustrate how electroporation with isotonic calcium can achieve highly effective cancer cell kill in vivo.

Enhanced non-viral gene delivery via calcium phosphate/DNA co-precipitates with low-voltage pulse electroporation in NK-92 cells for immunocellular therapy

open access: yesAPL Bioengineering
Achieving high cell transfection efficiency is essential for various cell types in numerous disease applications. However, the efficient introduction of genes into natural killer (NK) cells remains a challenge.

Electrochemotherapy for the treatment of basal cell tumours of the nasal planum in three cats

open access: yesJournal of Feline Medicine and Surgery Open Reports
Case series summary Malignant basal cell tumours may be seen on or near the nasal planum in cats, and include basal cell carcinomas, which are common, and basosquamous carcinomas, which are rare.
