New glycosides of the campesterol derivative from the rhizomes of Tacca chantrieri

Steroids, 2005
Seven new glycosides of the campesterol derivative (24R,25S)-ergost-5-ene-3beta,26-diol (1-7) were isolated from the rhizomes of Tacca chantrieri (Taccaceae). Their structures were determined by extensive spectroscopic analysis, including 2D NMR data, and a few chemical transformations.

Plasma Lathosterol and Campesterol in Detection of Ileal Dysfunction

Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, 1988
Plasma lathosterol levels reflect cholesterol synthesis, especially that induced by bile acid malabsorption, whereas plasma plant sterol contents change in parallel with cholesterol and fat absorption. The significance of lathosterols and plant sterols (campesterol and sitosterol) was therefore studied in detection of ileal dysfunction in 29 patients ...

Biosynthesis of campesterol and dihydrobrassicasterol in cultured cells of Amsonia elliptica

Phytochemistry, 1992
Abstract Reversed phase HPLC analysis of sterols of cultured cells of Amsonia elliptica showed that campesterol is the major sterol. Campesterol and its 24-epimer, dihydrobrassicasterol, were isolated from suspension cultures of A. elliptica incubated with l -[ Me - 2 H 3 ]methionine.

Increased campesterol synthesis by improving lipid content in engineered Yarrowia lipolytica

Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2020
Sterols attract increasing attention due to their important bioactivities. The oleaginous yeast Yarrowia lipolytica has large lipid droplets, which provide storage for the accumulated steroid compounds. In this study, we have successfully constructed a campesterol biosynthetic pathway by modifying the synthetic pathway of ergosterol in Y.
