Photodissociation of β-carboline

Journal of Photochemistry, 1986
Abstract An explanation for the photochemical homolytic self-dissociation of β-carboline has been found by means of intermediate neglect of differential overlap (INDO) and complete neglect of differential overlap/spectroscopic parametrization (CNDO/S) molecular orbital calculations.

Neurobiology of tetrahydro-β-carbolines

Life Sciences, 1980
Abstract Tetrahydro-β-carbolines (THβC's) are tricyclic compounds structurally related to the indoleamines. Recent studies have reported the in vitro and in vivo formation of these compounds in brain and other tissues. This information and other data indicating that THβC's interact relatively specifically with various aspects ...

ChemInform Abstract: CARBOLINE 1. MITT. 1,4‐DISUBSTITUIERTE BETA‐CARBOLINE

Chemischer Informationsdienst. Organische Chemie, 1970

N-Bromo-succinimide promoted synthesis of β-carbolines and 3,4-dihydro-β-carbolines from tetrahydro-β-carbolines

Tetrahedron Letters, 2016
Abstract Herein, we report a facile synthesis of 3,4-dihydro-β-carbolines and aromatic β-carbolines from tetrahydro-β-carbolines, mediated by N -bromosuccinimide in toluene at 0 °C to room temperature (rt), in good to moderate yields.

Carbolines and lsoquinolines

2000
Abstract Interaction of potential environmental neurotoxins with genetic susceptibility is considered important in the etiology of idiopathic PD (43,64,101). N-Methylated /3Cs and IQs, which contain pyridinium moieties like MPP+ and can in hibit mitochondrial respiration, are reasonable candidatesages, but their pyrolytic formation ...

Anticancer mechanisms of β‐carbolines

Chemical Biology & Drug Design
Abstractβ‐Carboline nucleus is therapeutically valuable in medicinal chemistry for the treatment of varied number of diseases, most importantly cancer. The potent and wide‐ranging activity of β‐carboline has established them as imperative pharmacological scaffolds especially in the cancer treatment. Numerous derivatives such as Tetrahydro β‐carbolines,

Pharmacokinetics of the β-carboline norharman in man

Life Sciences, 2001
In healthy subjects, pharmacokinetics were characterised using single oral and sublingual administrations of the beta-carboline norharman. For this purpose, norharman levels in blood plasma were measured up to 90-105 min after both routes of administration. Dose proportionality of three different single oral doses of norharman (7, 65 and 110 microg/kg)
