Overcoming Radiation Resistance: Ferroptosis Induction to Sensitize Solid Tumors to Radiation Therapy

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Radiation therapy (RT) is a mainstay of treatment for a myriad of cancers, often utilized for tumors that are unable to be resected, as well as an adjunct to surgery and chemotherapy. Unfortunately, many cancers are resistant to RT‐induced damage and subsequent cell death.

Machine Learning‐Based Profiling of Urinary Volatile Organic Compounds Reveals Distinct Diagnostic Signatures for Gastric Cancer

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Gastric cancer (GC) is a leading cause of cancer‐related mortality worldwide, often diagnosed at advanced stages due to the absence of specific symptoms. This study aimed to explore the potential of urinary volatile organic compounds (VOCs) as non‐invasive biomarkers for gastric cancer diagnosis.

Effect of Processing Methods on the Chemical Composition and Cytotoxicity Against Esophageal Cancer Cells of Fresh Taraxacum mongolicum Hand.‐Mazz. Leaves

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 8, August 2026.
Three processing methods show differences in chemical compositions and cytotoxic activities in Taraxacum mongolicum Hand.‐Mazz leaves. LC‐MS/MS identifies 81 components, with flavonoids and organic acids enriched in boiling water extracts and fatty acids in juice extracts.

Effects of ketogenic and low‐carbohydrate diet on glucose and weight control in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients along with metabolome change

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 4, August 2026.
Both the low‐carbohydrate diet (LCD) and the ketogenic diet (KD) positively affect body weight and glucose metabolism in type 2 diabetes. Metabolomic signatures sensitively reflect each diet and correlate with clinical improvements – distinct metabolite associations with glycated haemoglobin and weight were identified for LCD versus KD.

Neutrophil‐based immunotherapy: A metabolic lens on mechanisms and therapeutic implications

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
TAN metabolic reprogramming critically contributes to tumour immune evasion. A 4‑Tier TAN‑MetaC classification framework is proposed, along with an overview of translational opportunities and bottlenecks for TAN metabolism‑targeted immunotherapies. Abstract Background Tumor‐associated neutrophils (TANs) serve as pivotal immune modulators in the tumor ...
