Determination of vitamin C and β‐carotene content in cherry tomato genotypes
Abstract Background Cherry tomato (Solanum lycopersicum var. cerasiforme) is valued for its high yield potential and rich antioxidant composition. This study aimed to evaluate morphological traits, yield performance, and antioxidant content of nine cherry tomato genotypes grown under field conditions in Bangladesh.

Carotenoid Extraction and Quantification from Capsicum annuum
Carotenoids are ubiquitous pigments that play key roles in photosynthesis and also accumulate to high levels in fruit and flowers. Specific carotenoids play essential roles in human health as these compounds are precursors for Vitamin A; other specific ...

Salt‐induced nutritional and metabolic shifts in halophytes: implications for food security
Abstract Plant species vary in their response to salinity: some crops show a degree of salt tolerance, while halophytes – whether wild or cultivated – are characterized by a high capacity to thrive under saline conditions. Halophytes are considered a source of valuable secondary metabolites with potential economic value, yet they might also produce ...

Abstract BACKGROUND Preharvest light management is increasingly used to enhance yield and fruit quality in soilless systems, yet its effects on unripe melon fruits remain poorly understood. This study evaluated the impact of supplemental red–blue light‐emitting diode (LED) lighting applied during cultivation in a closed‐cycle hydroponic system on ...

ABSTRACT This study explored the association between the composite dietary antioxidant index (CDAI) and cardiovascular‐kidney‐metabolic (CKM) progression in an older population. Using data from NHANES 2001–2020, we analyzed 4974 adults aged ≥ 60 years with CKM syndrome. The CDAI was calculated from the intake of six dietary antioxidants.

Abstract Phytoplankton play a central role in ocean biogeochemistry and understanding their composition and variability is critical for monitoring marine ecosystem dynamics. Continuous spectrophotometric measurements (using a Seabird Sci. AC‐S) along ship tracks enable high‐resolution measurements of particle spectral absorption (apλ$$ {a}_p\left ...
