CCL24 Protects Renal Function by Controlling Inflammation in Podocytes [PDF]
Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is one of the most lethal complications of diabetes mellitus with chronic inflammation. We have examined the role of the inflammatory chemokine CCL24 in DN. We observed that serum levels of CCL24 were significantly elevated in patients with DN.

Macrophage-Derived CCL24 Promotes Cardiac Fibrosis Via Fibroblast CCR3. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Inflammation is a significant risk factor and contributor to the development of cardiovascular disease by driving adaptive and maladaptive responses to cardiac injury. Macrophages are the most abundant immune cells in the heart and play an important role in the remodeling of cardiac tissue.

Genetic control of CCL24, POR, and IL23R contributes to the pathogenesis of sarcoidosis [PDF]
AbstractSarcoidosis is a genetically complex systemic inflammatory disease that affects multiple organs. We present a GWAS of a Japanese cohort (700 sarcoidosis cases and 886 controls) with replication in independent samples from Japan (931 cases and 1,042 controls) and the Czech Republic (265 cases and 264 controls).

Endothelial and Epithelial Expression of Eotaxin-2 (CCL24) in Nasal Polyps [PDF]
Background: Nasal polyposis is mostly associated with eosinophilia of mucosal tissue. This points to the implication of CC chemokines in nasal eosinophilia. Recently the CC chemokine eotaxin-2 (CCL24) was identified. This study was initiated to localize the cellular source, analyze expression of mRNA, and quantify protein synthesis ...

Tissue-resident macrophages are critical for tissue homeostasis and repair. We previously showed that dermis-resident macrophages produce CCL24 which mediates their interaction with IL-4+ eosinophils, required to maintain their M2-like properties in the ...

Large chemokine binding spectrum of human and mouse atypical chemokine receptor GPR182 (ACKR5)
Atypical chemokine receptors (ACKRs) play pivotal roles in immune regulation by binding chemokines and regulating their spatial distribution without inducing G-protein activation.

Preeclampsia (PE) remains one of the leading causes of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. However, the exact pathophysiology of PE is still unclear. The recent widely accepted notion that successful pregnancy relies on maternal immunological adaptation is of utmost importance.
