The CCR4–NOT Deadenylase Complex Maintains Adipocyte Identity [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2019
Shortening of poly(A) tails triggers mRNA degradation; hence, mRNA deadenylation regulates many biological events. In the present study, we generated mice lacking the Cnot1 gene, which encodes an essential scaffold subunit of the CCR4–NOT deadenylase complex in adipose tissues (Cnot1-AKO mice) and we examined the role of CCR4–NOT in adipocyte function.

Monovalent mannose‐glycoconjugates of sulforaphane reprogram human dendritic cells via NFATc1 to induce immune tolerance under inflammatory conditions

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose Immune tolerance prevents inflammation and autoimmunity, with dendritic cells (DCs) playing a key role. Reprogramming DCs towards a tolerogenic state represents a promising therapeutic strategy. Sulforaphane (SFN) has known immunomodulatory effects, but its clinical application is limited by poor stability and ...

Human beta defensin 2 selectively inhibits HIV-1 in highly permissive CCR6+CD4+ T cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Chemokine receptor type 6 (CCR6)+CD4+ T cells are preferentially infected and depleted during HIV disease progression, but are preserved in non-progressors.

miRNAs as Influencers of Cell-Cell Communication in Tumor Microenvironment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
microRNAs (miRNAs) are small noncoding RNAs that regulate gene expression at the posttranscriptional level, inducing the degradation of the target mRNA or translational repression.

CCR4-bearing T cells participate in autoimmune diabetes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Investigation, 2002
Chemokine receptor expression is exquisitely regulated on T cell subsets during the course of their migration to inflammatory sites. In the present study we demonstrate that CCR4 expression marks a pathogenic population of autoimmune T cells. CCR4 was found exclusively on memory CD4(+) T cells during the progression of disease in NOD mice.

Analysis of Peripheral T Cell Profiling and Plasma Proteomics in Advanced NSCLC Patients Treated With Atezolizumab

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
This study found immune markers that may predict how well patients with advanced lung cancer respond to atezolizumab. Higher levels of certain T cells were linked to better survival. Specific patterns suggested a worse prognosis for some patients. ABSTRACT We investigated immunologic biomarkers that predict outcomes of patients with previously treated ...

Siah2 control of T-regulatory cells limits anti-tumor immunity. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Understanding the mechanisms underlying anti-tumor immunity is pivotal for improving immune-based cancer therapies. Here, we report that growth of BRAF-mutant melanoma cells is inhibited, up to complete rejection, in Siah2-/- mice.

Diverging in Vivo Immune Response Patterns After Oral Food Challenge in Peanut Allergic Adults

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Allergy, EarlyView.
After the oral food challenge, peanut (PN)‐allergic adults were monitored over 4 weeks, which revealed diverging immune response patterns, with strong responders (SR) exhibiting heightened Ara h 2+ B cell expansion, PN sIgE induction and increasing PN‐specific Tconv. Weak responders (WR) had more activated PN‐specific Tregs.
