The N‐Glycome to Differentiate Mesenchymal Stem Cells Upon Chondrogenic Differentiation, Dedifferentiation, and Senescence

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are adult stem cells able to self‐renewal or differentiation into different cell types, including chondrocytes. N‐Glycans are post‐translational modifications of glycoproteins that contribute to vital cell functions.

CD73 and adenosine generation in the creation of regulatory microenvironments

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Immunology, 2012
SummaryExtracellular adenosine 5′-triphosphate (ATP) acts on many immune cells to promote inflammation. Conversely, the ATP metabolite adenosine is mainly an anti-inflammatory molecule. The ecto-enzymes CD39 and CD73 can dephosphorylate extracellular ATP to adenosine, thereby controlling this important pathway of immune modulation.

RNA‐binding protein RBMS1: A new target for cancer diagnosis and treatment

open access: yesPrecision Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
This schematic illustrates the diverse regulatory roles of RNA‐binding motif single‐stranded interacting protein 1 (RBMS1) across multiple human cancers. In breast cancer, RBMS1 stabilizes B4GALT1 mRNA to promote PD‐L1 glycosylation, modulating tumor immune escape and immunotherapy efficacy.

Mesenchymal stromal cell therapy for rheumatoid arthritis: Long‐term efficacy, safety, and mechanistic insights

open access: yesRheumatology &Autoimmunity, EarlyView.
Graphical abstract summarizing the multifactorial pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and the therapeutic potential of mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) therapy. MSCs provide promising benefits through their immunomodulatory properties, low immunogenicity, ability to promote tissue repair, and multi‐lineage differentiation, presenting a potential ...

CD39 and CD73 Expression in Breast Cancer: CD73 as a Favorable Prognostic Factor in HER2-Positive Tumors

open access: yesJournal of Breast Cancer
CD39 (ENTPD1, ectonucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase-1) and CD73 (NT5E, 5'-nucleotidase) are mediators of adenosine release in the tumor microenvironment (TME), and adenosine has the effect of overcoming anti-tumor immunity. This CD39-CD73-adenosine pathway is thought that play a role in immune suppression and promotion of tumor growth and ...
