Phosphorylation of AIB1 at Mitosis Is Regulated by CDK1/CYCLIN B
Although the AIB1 oncogene has an important role during the early phase of the cell cycle as a coactivator of E2F1, little is known about its function during mitosis.Mitotic cells isolated by nocodazole treatment as well as by shake-off revealed a post-translational modification occurring in AIB1 specifically during mitosis.

CDK1/2 toolbox in need of an upgrade [PDF]
Cyclin-dependent protein kinases are key drivers of cell cycle progression.1,2 Specific phases of the cycle are controlled by altering the levels and availability of cyclins which function to bind ...

Cell adhesion is regulated by CDK1 during the cell cycle
In most tissues, anchorage-dependent growth and cell cycle progression are dependent on cells engaging extracellular matrices (ECMs) via integrin–receptor adhesion complexes.

Phosphorylation of androgen receptors at serine 515 is a potential prognostic marker for triple negative breast cancer [PDF]
1.7 million cases of breast cancer are diagnosed every year with 522,000 deaths. Molecular classifications of breast cancer have resulted in improved treatments. However, treatments for triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) are lacking.

Four‐gene Prognostic Signature and Risk of Brain Metastasis of Lung Adenocarcinoma
ABSTRACT Brain metastasis has a high incidence and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). We sought to identify genes associated with LUAD brain metastasis and with the prognosis of patients with LUAD. Differential gene expression analysis was performed on LUAD patients with and without distant metastasis from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA ...

Reactivation of the mitosis-promoting factor in postmitotic cardiomyocytes [PDF]
Cardiomyocytes cease to divide shortly after birth and an irreversible cell cycle arrest is evident accompanied by the downregulation of cyclin-dependent kinase activities.

We investigated the effects of vitamin A (VitA)‐enriched diet on regeneration of urothelium after intraperitoneal injection (i.p.) of cyclophosphamide (CP). Control mice received i.p. of saline (S). Our results showed that VitA‐enriched diet on the first day after CP‐induced injury significantly increased the proliferation of urothelial cells, leading ...

Acanthamoeba induces cell-cycle arrest in host cells [PDF]
Acanthamoeba can cause fatal granulomatous amoebic encephalitis (GAE) and eye keratitis. However, the pathogenesis and pathophysiology of these emerging diseases remain unclear.

Cancer cells are exposed to heightened levels of endoplasmic reticulum stress and inflammation within the tumor microenvironment which can lead to therapeutic resistance. To address this issue, liposome‐polymer nanoparticles loaded with copper diethyldithiocarbamate (CuET), a potent inhibitor of the p97‐UFD1‐NPL4 protein complex, and the anti ...
