Classification of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) based on the somatic hypermutation (SHM) status of the clonotypic immunoglobulin heavy variable (IGHV) gene has established predictive and prognostic relevance. The SHM status is assessed

Functional Antibody CDR3 Fusion Proteins with Enhanced Pharmacological Properties [PDF]
Most mammalian antibodies have complementarity determining region (CDR) loops of 8–16 residues, while some human antibodies have longer, protruding CDR loops that play a role in virus neutralization.[1] The bovine antibody repertoire features a subgroup of antibodies with exceptionally long heavy chain complementarity determining region 3 (CDR3H) loops.

Patients with metastatic melanoma were treated with tremelimumab and interferon-α (IFN) in a previously reported clinical trial [NCT00610857]. Responses were assessed by RECIST criteria as complete (CR) or partial (PR), stable disease (SD) or progressive

The TRBV germline gene can be classified into three types: open reading frame (ORF), functional gene (F), and pseudogene (P); however, the differences and connections among ORF, functional gene, and pseudogene rearrangements and expression ...

The composition and variation of the BCR CDR3s in gastric cancer
Gastric cancer (GC) is the fourth most common type of cancer and the second most common cause of cancer-associated mortality worldwide. B cell-associated autoantibodies against tumor-associated antigens are attractive biomarkers for the development of noninvasive serological tests for the early detection of cancer.

Affinity transfer to a human protein by CDR3 grafting of camelid VHH [PDF]
AbstractVHH is the binding domain of the IgG heavy chain. Some VHHs have an extremely long CDR3 that contributes to antigen binding. We studied the antigen binding ability of CDR3 by grafting a CDR3 from an antigen‐binding VHH onto a nonbinding VHH. cAb‐CA05‐(1RI8), the CDR3‐grafted VHH, had an antigen‐binding ability.

Reprogramming of the heavy-chain CDR3 regions of a human antibody repertoire
B cells have been engineered ex vivo to express an HIV-1 broadly neutralizing antibody (bNAb). B cell reprograming may be scientifically and therapeutically useful, but current approaches limit B cell repertoire diversity and disrupt the organization of the heavy-chain locus.
