A Brain‐Penetrant Nanobody Reveals GSK3β‐Driven Proline‐Directed Phosphorylation as a Master Regulator of Ischemic Neurodegeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A brain‐targeted nanoparticle enables delivery of a therapeutic nanobody (Nb.29E9) that inhibits pathogenic GSK3β signaling. This intervention restores AMPK/mTORC1/TGFβ homeostasis, attenuates neuroinflammation and oxidative stress, and promotes long‐term functional recovery after ischemic stroke.

The Candida albicans CDR3 gene codes for an opaque-phase ABC transporter [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1997
We report the cloning and functional analysis of a third member of the CDR gene family in Candida albicans, named CDR3. This gene codes for an ABC (ATP-binding cassette) transporter of 1,501 amino acids highly homologous to Cdr1p and Cdr2p (56 and 55% amino acid sequence identity, respectively), two transporters involved in fluconazole resistance in C.

Single‐Cell Profiling Identifies SLC2A5‐Mediated Fructose Metabolism as a Vulnerability in Primary CNS Lymphoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glucose deprivation in the primary CNS lymphoma (PCNSL) tumor microenvironment drives SLC2A5 (encoding GLUT5)‐dependent fructose metabolism in tumor cells, while hypoxia induces HIF‐mediated SLC2A5 expression in tumor‐supportive macrophages, revealing SLC2A5‐driven fructose utilization as a shared and targetable metabolic vulnerability across malignant

Single‐Cell Level Characterization of B Cell Depletion and Repopulation Following Rituximab in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Rituximab, a CD20+ B cell depletion therapy, is frequently used to treat systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). However, variability in patient response highlights the need for a deeper understanding of the underlying immune cell dynamics of B cell depletion and repopulation.

T cells to a dominant epitope of GAD65 express a public CDR3 motif [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Immunology, 2006
Non-obese diabetic (NOD) mice spontaneously develop autoimmune diabetes, and serve as a model for type 1 diabetes (T1D) and natural autoimmunity. T cell responses to the pancreatic islet antigen glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65) can be detected in the spleens of young prediabetic NOD mice, which display a unique MHC class II molecule.

New insights into the Germline Genes and CDR3 Repertoire of the TCRβ chain in Chiroptera

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2022
Abstract Bats are known to be natural reservoirs of many viruses, yet their unique immune system enables them to coexist with viruses without frequently exhibiting disease symptoms. The current understanding of the bat adaptive immune system is limited, as there is no database or tool capable of processing T-cell receptor (TCR ...

T Cell Plasticity in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Revealed by Large‐Scale T Cell Receptor Repertoire and Transcriptome Studies

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective We aimed to characterize CD4+ T cell plasticity in human systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) by leveraging T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire features as markers of prior lineage states, integrating TCR and transcriptomic profiling to delineate plasticity patterns and evaluate their association with clinical disease activity. Methods We used TCR
