Many-Channel Bargmann Potentials

Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1964
A generalization of the Bargmann potentials to include the case of nonrelativistics-wave scattering of a particle by a target having a finite number of discrete excited states is presented. This generalization allows the explicit construction of a large class of many-channel S-matrices meromorphic on their energy Riemann surfaces as well as the ...

Single-channel currents through transient-receptor-potential-like (TRPL) channels

Pflügers Archiv - European Journal of Physiology, 2000
Single-channel current recordings were used to examine the properties and modulation of Drosophila transient-receptor-potential-like (TRPL) channels transiently expressed in HEK and COS cells. Recombinant TRPL channels were constitutively active and characterized by a conductance of 104 pS in on-cell membrane patches with 115 mM Na+ and 2 mM Mg2+ in ...

Ion Channels in Action Potential Generation

Hospital Practice, 1992
Molecular structure-function studies have identified the two key regions--the voltage sensor and pore--of the sodium and potassium channels responsible for the action potential in nerve axon. Mutational analysis has focused on the amino acids that are most important in each region. Similar studies in myocytes and nerve cell bodies are now being pursued.

TRP Channels as Potential Drug Targets

Annual Review of Pharmacology and Toxicology, 2018
The transient receptor potential (TRP) superfamily of channels comprises a diverse group of cation channels. Four TRP channel subunits coassemble to form functional homo- or heterotetramers that pass sodium, calcium, or both in the inward direction. Modulating TRP channel activity provides an important way to impact cellular function by regulating both

Shadow Channels in Potential Theory

Physical Review D, 1971
The effect of coupling a shadow channel to a real channel is studied in the framework of nonrelativistic potential-scattering theory. For simplicity, $s$-wave scattering with energy-independent $\ensuremath{\delta}$-function potentials is considered. This model has the virtue of being exactly solvable in configuration space.

Exactly projected coupled-channel potentials

Nuclear Physics A, 1984
Abstract Polarization effects in heavy-ion potentials are investigated in the coupled-channel framework. Particular emphasis is placed on a study of the effects of a truncation of the full Hubert space. The formalism, based on Feshbach's projection method, is applied to inelastic 16 O + 16 O scattering. The resulting effective diagonal and coupling

SELF POTENTIAL AND CURRENT CHANNELLING*

Geophysical Prospecting, 1985
ABSTRACTAnomalies in self potential (SP) are usually explained in terms of geochemical activity. However, there are other sources of current which cause complications in the interpretation. In particular, DC telluric currents can be generated outside the survey region.

Complex Continuum Potential for Channeling

Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1973
Complex continuum potentials for channeling due to non-local inelastic scatterings are introduced. The relation between the complex continuum potential and the Yoshioka term for electron diffraction is studied. For an example, phonon excitations are considered in detail for numerical calculations of the imaginary continuum potential (absorption ...
