eEF1G Orchestrates Translation to Ensure Meiotic Progression in Transcriptionally Quiescent Spermatocytes

eEF1G supports translation elongation of meiotic mRNAs in transcriptionally quiescent leptotene and zygotene spermatocytes. Its depletion in germ cells causes meiotic arrest at the zygotene stage, with defective homologous synapsis and unstable recombination intermediates.

The gifted child: a conceptual enquiry [PDF]

The concept of giftedness is frequently challenged on the grounds that 1) it is a ragged or slippery concept, 2) it is inegalitarian, 3) it is culturally arbitrary, and 4) it fails to distinguish children with natural ability from children who are parentally pressured. I argue that all these charges are unfounded.

A Universal Protein Ladder for Standardization of Diverse FRET Assays

Translating FRET measurements from in vitro to intracellular environments requires universal benchmarks. We present a modular protein ladder using TPR motifs to harmonize data across diverse platforms. This predictable calibration curve bridges single molecule FRET measurements, with cell based measurements including FLIM‐FRET.
