Synthesis and Characterization of Co(II), Cu(II), and Ni(II) Complexes of 2,2′‐Bipyridine‐4,4′‐Dicarboxamide Ligands: Antibacterial Evaluation Against Resistant Bacteria and Enzyme Inhibition

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
Two new 2,2′‐bipyridine‐4,4′‐dicarboxamide ligands and their Co(II), Cu(II), and Ni(II) complexes are synthesized and characterized. The L2‐Co complex shows strong antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Design, Synthesis, In Silico Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Elimination and Molecular Docking Studies of Thiazole‐Based Furan Derivatives, and Their Biological Evaluation for Alzheimer Disease Therapy

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
GA: Oxidative stress plays a critical role in Alzheimer's disease (AD) by promoting Aβ plaque accumulation and tau pathology, accelerating neurodegeneration. Elevated reactive oxygen species contribute to cognitive decline through extensive oxidative damage.

Plasma Ammonia Levels Predict Hepatic Encephalopathy After Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt Placement

open access: yesUnited European Gastroenterology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Placement of a transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) is an effective treatment for portal hypertension. Overt hepatic encephalopathy (oHE) is a complication after TIPS associated with increased morbidity. Elevated ratio of plasma ammonia (AMM) levels compared to the local upper limit of normal (ULN) has been ...

Violation of cell lineage restriction compartments in the chick hindbrain [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Previous cell lineage studies indicate that the repeated neuromeres of the chick hindbrain, the rhombomeres, are cell lineage restriction compartments. We have extended these results and tested if the restrictions are absolute. Two different cell marking

Effects of sodium fluoride on serum concentrations of selected psychotropic drugs

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Caution is imperative when interpreting drug concentrations in blood, plasma, or serum, given the potential variance in the distribution of a compound across these fluids. Preservatives, such as sodium fluoride, prove beneficial in preventing drug degradation in collected blood samples. This study aimed to examine the impact of sodium fluoride
