CircRNA Identification and CircRNA–miRNA–mRNA Network in Cynoglossus semilaevis Sexual Size Dimorphism

open access: yesBiology, 2022
Sexual size dimorphism (SSD), which is the sexual differences in body size, has been widely reported in various species including fishes. For Chinese tongue sole (Cynoglossus semilaevis), a flatfish exhibiting typically female-biased SSD, little is known for its epigenetic regulation mechanism, especially the role of circRNAs.

Colorectal cancer: from the genetic model to posttranscriptional regulation by noncoding RNAs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Colorectal cancer is the third most common form of cancer in developed countries and, despite the improvements achieved in its treatment options, remains as one of the main causes of cancer-related death.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

An atlas of cortical circular RNA expression in Alzheimer disease brains demonstrates clinical and pathological associations. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Parietal cortex RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) data were generated from individuals with and without Alzheimer disease (AD; ncontrol = 13; nAD = 83) from the Knight Alzheimer Disease Research Center (Knight ADRC).

ROP: dumpster diving in RNA-sequencing to find the source of 1 trillion reads across diverse adult human tissues. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
High-throughput RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) technologies provide an unprecedented opportunity to explore the individual transcriptome. Unmapped reads are a large and often overlooked output of standard RNA-seq analyses. Here, we present Read Origin Protocol

Mapping the Cerebral Organoid Landscape: A Systematic Review of Preclinical 3D Models in Neuroscience

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Cerebral organoids are transforming brain research, yet the field remains fragmented. This comprehensive systematic review maps 738 studies published between 2014 and 2024 to uncover trends, gaps, and opportunities across neuroscience. Introducing OrganoidMap—an interactive, open‐access platform to explore and compare models—this work enables ...

The Cellular and Viral circRNAome Induced by Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection

open access: yesmBio, 2021
Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a new class of noncoding RNAs that have gained increased attention. DNA virus infections have been reported to induce modifications in cellular circRNA transcriptomes and express viral circRNAs.

Interactions of circRNAs with methylation: An important aspect of circRNA biogenesis and function (Review)

open access: yesMolecular Medicine Reports, 2022
Circular RNA (circRNA) molecules are noncoding RNAs with unique circular covalently closed structures that contribute to gene expression regulation, protein translation and act as microRNA sponges. circRNAs also have important roles in human disease, particularly tumorigenesis and antitumor processes.
