Impact of Coenzyme Q10 Supplementation on Skeletal Muscle Respiration, Antioxidants, and the Muscle Proteome in Thoroughbred Horses

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2023
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is an essential component of the mitochondrial electron transfer system and a potent antioxidant. The impact of CoQ10 supplementation on mitochondrial capacities and the muscle proteome is largely unknown.

Phosphate limitation increases coenzyme Q10 production in industrial Rhodobacter sphaeroides HY01

open access: yesSynthetic and Systems Biotechnology, 2019
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is an important component of the respiratory chain in humans and some bacteria. As a high-value-added nutraceutical antioxidant, CoQ10 has excellent capacity to prevent cardiovascular disease.

CoenzymeQ10 and Ischemic Preconditioning Potentially Prevent Tourniquet-Induced Ischemia/Reperfusion in Knee Arthroplasty, but Combined Pretreatment Possibly Neutralizes Their Beneficial Effects

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2022
Tourniquet (TQ) use during total knee arthroplasty (TKA) induces ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury, resulting in mitochondrial dysfunction. This study aims to determine the effects of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) and ischemic preconditioning (IPC), either alone ...

Assessing the influence of the carbon source on the abatement of industrial N2O emissions coupled with the synthesis of added-value bioproducts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Producción CientíficaThe continuous abatement of a synthetic N2O emission from a nitric acid plant coupled with the simultaneously production of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) copolymer and the coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) in a bubble column

PDIA3 Inhibition Facilitates Sensitivity of IKE‐Induced Ferroptosis via STAT3/LCN2 Axis to Improve Glioblastoma Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this manuscript, protein disulfide isomerase A3 (PDIA3) is identified as a key factor mediating the susceptibility of ferroptosis in GBM. Inhibition of PDIA3 enhances IKE or cystine starvation‐induced ferroptosis in GBM cells by resulting in the accumulation of lipid peroxidation and a reduction in GSH level.

Prophylactic Effectiveness of Coenzyme Q10 for Migraine in Adults: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Double-Blinded Randomized Clinical Trials

open access: yesTraditional and Integrative Medicine
We aimed to evaluate the influence of coenzyme Q10 alone (CoQ10) or in association with other nutraceuticals (CoQ10+) on the frequency, severity, duration of migraine attacks, and quality of life. We conducted a meta-analysis and a network meta-analysis

Protective Effect of Coenzyme Q10 on Methamphetamine-Induced Apoptosis in Adult Male Rats

open access: yesNovelty in Biomedicine, 2017
Background: The negative consequence of methamphetamine abuse is due to neuropathologic changes in the brain, which reduces dopaminergic neurons and result in damage to different brain areas.

Serum Levels of Coenzyme Q10 in Patients with Multiple System Atrophy. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
The COQ2 gene encodes an essential enzyme for biogenesis, coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). Recessive mutations in this gene have recently been identified in families with multiple system atrophy (MSA).
