Optimising Satellite and Core Networks for a Global Quantum Network
Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) promises information theoretic security. However, the exponential decay of the secure key in optical fibres leads to limitations in long distance QKD distribution across fibres, which is necessary for global Quantum Networks (QNs).

Structure and dynamics of core/periphery networks [PDF]
Recent studies uncovered important core/periphery network structures characterizing complex sets of cooperative and competitive interactions between network nodes, be they proteins, cells, species or humans. Better characterization of the structure, dynamics and function of core/periphery networks is a key step of our understanding cellular functions ...

ON THE CORE OF THE NETWORK DESIGN GAME
Summary: We consider a cooperative game on a communication network system whose objective is to find a fair allocation of the total cost for constructing the network among customers. Since an NP-hard combinatorial optimization problem must be solved for calculating the exact network design cost, we consider a game in which lower bounds obtained by ...

The Multistationarity Structure of Networks with Intermediates and a Binomial Core Network [PDF]
This work addresses whether a reaction network, taken with mass-action kinetics, is multistationary, that is, admits more than one positive steady state in some stoichiometric compatibility class. We build on previous work on the effect that removing or adding intermediates has on multistationarity, and also on methods to detect multistationarity for ...

Evolution Characteristics of the Network Core in the Facebook [PDF]
Statistical properties of the static networks have been extensively studied. However, online social networks are evolving dynamically, understanding the evolving characteristics of the core is one of major concerns in online social networks. In this paper, we empirically investigate the evolving characteristics of the Facebook core.
