Cosmc is required for T cell persistence in the periphery [PDF]
AbstractT lymphocytes, a key arm of adaptive immunity, are known to dynamically regulate O-glycosylation during T cell maturation and when responding to stimuli; however, the direct role of O-glycans in T cell maturation remains largely unknown. Using a conditional knockout of the gene (C1GalT1C1 or Cosmc) encoding the specific chaperone Cosmc, we ...

Cosmc overexpression enhances malignancies in human colon cancer [PDF]
AbstractCosmc is known as a T‐synthase‐specific molecular chaperone that plays a crucial role in the process of O‐glycosylation. Cosmc dysfunction leads to inactive T‐synthase and results in aberrant O‐glycosylation, which is associated with various tumour malignancies.

Cosmc is an essential chaperone for correct protein O-glycosylation [PDF]
Cosmc is a molecular chaperone thought to be required for expression of active T-synthase, the only enzyme that galactosylates the Tn antigen (GalNAcα1-Ser/Thr-R) to form core 1 Galβ1–3GalNAcα1-Ser/Thr (T antigen) during mucin type O-glycan biosynthesis. Here we show that ablation of the X-linked Cosmc gene in mice causes embryonic

In this study, the solute carriers SLC35A2 and SLC35A2 were physically joined in the two indicated orientations with an HA tag inserted in between. The resulting hybrids localized to the Golgi apparatus of the HEK293T double knockout lacking SLC35A2 and SLC35A3 and restored glycosylation defects displayed by these cells.

This study reveals differential packaging of glycans and proteins in extracellular vesicles (EVs) in response to changes in cellular architecture. Signatures identified in EVs from 3D tumor cell cultures allow to cluster subgroups of gastric cancer patients with distinct prognostic information.

ptARgenOM—A Flexible Vector For CRISPR/CAS9 Nonviral Delivery
Nonviral CRISPR‐Cas9 gene editing of intracellular proteins often relies on the amplification of single‐cell clones, which can be time‐consuming and laborious. ptARgenOM, is a flexible all‐in‐one delivery vector that allows transient selection and enrichment of knockout cells using either enhanced green fluorescent protein or puromycin.

MicroRNA‑196b targets COSMC in pediatric IgA nephropathy
The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of microRNAs (miRNAs) on the expression level of core1β3‑galactosyltransferase‑specific molecular chaperone (COSMC) in immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN). miRNA expression levels were determined in pediatric patients with IgAN (IgAN group), in patients with other renal diseases (control group)

External suppression causes the low expression of the Cosmc gene in IgA nephropathy [PDF]
IgA(1) aberrant O-glycosylation is one of the main pathogeneses of IgA nephropathy (IgAN), and the core I beta3-Gal-T-specific molecular chaperone (Cosmc) mRNA expression of IgAN patients was significantly decreased. This study tried to clarify whether the down-regulation was a result of genetic disorders or external suppressions.Sixty-five IgAN ...
