Prospective pharmacological potential of cryptotanshinone in cancer therapy

open access: yesPharmacological Research - Modern Chinese Medicine, 2023
Background: Cryptotanshinone (CPT), a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has recently gained remarkable interest as a potent alternative cancer therapeutic. The sole objective of this review is to accumulate the anti-tumour activity of CPT against major cancers as well as the underlying mechanisms.

Uncovering the Mechanisms of Cryptotanshinone as a Therapeutic Agent Against Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2020
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a fatal and dominant form of liver cancer that currently has no effective treatment or positive prognosis. In this study, we explored the antitumor effects of cryptotanshinone (CPT) against HCC and the molecular ...

Cryptotanshinone Ameliorates Radiation-Induced Lung Injury in Rats

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, 2019
Cryptotanshinone (CTS) was reported to repress a variety of systemic inflammation and alleviate cardiac fibrosis, but it is still unclear whether CTS could prevent radiation-induced lung injury (RILI). Here, we investigated the effects and underlying mechanisms of CTS on a RILI rat model.

Total Syntheses of Tanshinone-I, Tanshinone-II and Cryptotanshinone [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1968
Abstract Total syntheses of tanshinone-II (II) and cryptotanshinone (III) from 3-methylbenzofuran-4, 7-quinone (X) and 6,6-dimethyl-l-vinylcyclohexene (IX), and of tanshinone-I (I) from quinone X and o-methylstyrene (XVIII) are described. Preliminary accounts for the Diels-Alder reaction of methoxybenzoquinone revealed that the effect of

In Silico investigation of Danshen (Salvia miltiorrhiza) derivatives as potential inhibitor of amyloid beta fibril and design of promising lead compounds as Anti Alzheimer’s drug by pharmacophore modeling [PDF]

open access: yesAlzheimers Dement
Abstract Background Danshen (Salvia miltiorrhiza) is a kind of rhizome and traditionally being used for the long time in China. In recent years some exceptional experimental works have been done on Danshen derivatives and evidence have been found that several Danshen derivatives are able to inhibit amyloid beta fibril, a pathological hallmark of ...

Machine Learning Accelerates Crystallization for Structure Determination

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Single‐crystal x‐ray diffraction (SCXRD) is often constrained by the difficulty of obtaining suitable crystals. Here, a machine learning‐accelerated co‐crystal discovery workflow is established for a crystalline mate strategy that achieves over 95% prediction accuracy and experimentally delivers 114 co‐crystals from 120 candidates.
