Direct reaction of oximes with crotylsarin, cyclosarin, or VX in vitro [PDF]
The direct reaction of seven pyridinium oximes with the organophosphorus compounds (OPCs) crotylsarin, cyclosarin, and VX was studied by spectrophotometry. This method allows to quantify different parameters: (a) the half-life times (t (1/2)) of the oxime-OPC reactions on the basis of the changes in the absorption at the zwitterion (betaine) peak ...

Molecular aspects of the reactivation process of acetylcholinesterase inhibited by cyclosarin [PDF]

This is the first report addressing analysis of biomarker adducts obtained from human hair exposed to the nerve agents sarin and VX in vitro. Phosphonylated single amino acids were obtained after pronase‐catalyzed proteolysis of hair proteins. Adducted Lys and especially Tyr residues were the most prominent adducts detected by μLC‐ESI MS/HR MS.

Abstract Objective Exposure to the nerve agent, soman (GD), induces status epilepticus (SE), epileptogenesis, and even death. Although rodent models studying the pathophysiological mechanisms show females to be more reactive to soman, no tangible sex differences in brains postexposure have been reported.

Dysbiosis in gastrointestinal pathophysiology: Role of the gut microbiome in Gulf War Illness
Abstract Gulf War Illness (GWI) has been reported in 25%–35% of veterans returned from the Gulf war. Symptoms of GWI are varied and include both neurological and gastrointestinal symptoms as well as chronic fatigue. Development of GWI has been associated with chemical exposure particularly with exposure to pyridostigmine bromide (PB) and permethrin ...

EFFECTIVITY OF NEW ACETYLCHOLINESTERASE REACTIVATORS IN TREATMENT OF CYCLOSARIN POISONING IN MICE AND RATS [PDF]
The present study was performed to assess and compare a therapeutic efficacy of obidoxime, HI-6, BI-6 and HS-6 administered in equimolar doses and combined with atropine in cyclosarin-poisoned mice and rats. It was demonstrated that all the therapeutic regimens tested, were able to decrease the cyclosarin-induced toxicity significantly - at least 1.5 ...
