Serum Testosterone Response to Desialylated Human Choriogonadotropin in Man [PDF]
To assess the in vivo steroidogenic activity of desialylated human choriogonadotropin (hCG) in man, highly purified desialylated hCG was administered as a constant intravenous infusion over 6 hours to four normal men at a rate sufficient to maintain substantial levels of desialylated hCG in the serum.

Targeted Desialylation Overcomes Glyco-Immune Checkpoints and Potentiates the Anticancer Immune Response in Vivo [PDF]
Currently approved immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapies targeting the PD-1 and CTLA-4 receptor pathways are powerful treatment options for certain cancers; however, the majority of patients across cancer types still fail to respond.

Sialic acid as the potential link between lipid metabolism and inflammation in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis [PDF]
In the modern world, cardiovascular diseases have a special place among the most common causes of death. Naturally, this widespread problem cannot escape the attention of scientists and researchers. One of the main conditions preceding the development of

Detection of desialylated forms of human chorionic gonadotropin
Urinary forms of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) with oligosaccharides deficient in sialic acid content (ashCG) have been reported to be excreted by patients with choriocarcinoma in greater amounts than by healthy, pregnant women. Although ashCG potentially could be a useful marker for the diagnosis and management of gestational trophoblastic ...

From haemostasis to immunity: The expanding frontiers of platelet biology
Platelets are versatile cells whose functions extend far beyond haemostasis and thrombosis, actively regulating innate and adaptive immunity, angiogenesis, lymphangiogenesis, liver regeneration, atherosclerosis and tumour metastasis. This demonstrates their central role in various physiological processes and multiple life‐threatening diseases ...
