Flatness-based control revisited: The HEOL setting

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique
We present the algebraic foundations of the HEOL setting, which combines flatness-based control and intelligent controllers, two advances in automatic control that have been proven in practice, including in industry.

Differential flatness based control of a rotorcraft for aggressive maneuvers

open access: yes2011 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2011
We propose a new method to control a multi-rotor aerial vehicle. We show that the system dynamics are differentially flat. We utilize the differential flatness of the system to provide a feed forward input. The system model derived allows for arbitrary changes in yaw and is not limited to small roll and pitch angles.

Improved dynamic performance of triple active bridge DC-DC converter using differential flatness control for more electric aircraft applications

open access: yesResults in Engineering
The triple active bridge (TAB) converter has been proposed to improve power density and availability in more electric aircraft applications. However, the conventional proportional-integral (PI) controller used for TAB voltage control often exhibits slow ...

A practical design method of flat outputs for nonlinear control systems

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
In this paper, we deal with a design method for nonlinear systems, focusing on flat outputs of the dynamical systems. The reason why flat outputs are focused on is as follows.

Modern Semi-Active Control Schemes for a Suspension with MR Actuator for Vibration Attenuation

open access: yesActuators, 2021
This article describes semi-active modern control schemes for a quarter-vehicle suspension with a magnetorheological damper (MRD) to attenuate vibrations and simultaneously improve the passenger comfort and the vehicle road-holding. The first solution is

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Flatness-based control of open-channel flow in an irrigation canal using SCADA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Open channels are used to distribute water to large irrigated areas. In these systems, ensuring timely water delivery is essential to reduce operational water losses.

Multiple quadrotors carrying a flexible hose: dynamics, differential flatness and control [PDF]

open access: yesIFAC-PapersOnLine, 2019
Using quadrotors UAVs for cooperative payload transportation using cables has been actively gaining interest in recent years. Understanding the dynamics of these complex multi-agent systems would help towards designing safe and reliable systems.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

On an implicit triangular decomposition of nonlinear control systems that are 1-flat - a constructive approach

open access: yes, 2014
We study the problem to provide a triangular form based on implicit differential equations for non-linear multi-input systems with respect to the flatness property.
