Supercationic Poly(Hexamethylene Biguanide)‐Derived Carbon Dots for Combating Multidrug‐Resistant Bacterial Keratitis

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
This research introduces poly(hexamethylene biguanide)‐derived carbon dots (P‐CDs) as a novel antibacterial agent for combating multidrug‐resistant bacterial keratitis. P‐CDs exhibit potent activity against resistant pathogens, including MRSA and MRPA. In vivo results confirm their superior therapeutic efficacy over standard antibiotics, alongside the ...

Regulated DnaA synthesis and Lon-mediated degradation are required to eliminate DnaA upon carbon exhaustion.

open access: yes, 2015
(A) Growth curves and Western Blots showing changes in DnaA and CtrA levels after shifting wild type, Δlon, ΔspoT and Plac-dnaA cells from M2G to M2 medium containing 0.02% glucose at t = 0. The culture of Plac-dnaA cells was supplemented with 50 μM IPTG

A DnaA‐dependent riboswitch for transcription attenuation of the his operon

open access: yesmLife, 2023
Transcription attenuation in response to the availability of a specific amino acid is believed to be controlled by alternative configurations of RNA secondary structures that lead to the arrest of translation or the release of the arrested ribosome from ...

Diffusion Coefficients for Resonant Relativistic Wave‐Particle Interactions Using the PIRAN Code

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Quasilinear diffusion coefficients can be used to model the response of charged particles to resonant wave‐particle interactions. The calculation of these coefficients is sufficiently complicated and arduous to render it prohibitive to many potential users, because of the expense in time spent developing the code.

A novel mode of DnaA–DnaA interaction promotes ADP dissociation for reactivation of replication initiation activity [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 2019
Abstract ATP-DnaA is temporally increased to initiate replication during the cell cycle. Two chromosomal loci, DARS (DnaA-reactivating sequences) 1 and 2, promote ATP-DnaA production by nucleotide exchange of ADP-DnaA for timely initiation.

Analysis of Plasma Epstein–Barr Virus DNA and Clinical Outcomes to Pembrolizumab or Chemotherapy in Recurrent/Metastatic Nasopharyngeal Cancer in KEYNOTE‐122

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Plasma Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) DNA has clinical utility for prognosis, recurrence, surveillance, and treatment response in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). This exploratory analysis evaluated associations between plasma EBV DNA load and clinical outcomes in participants treated with pembrolizumab or chemotherapy in the phase 3 ...

The presence of two DnaA-binding sequences is required for an efficient interaction of theEscherichia coliDnaA protein with each particular weak DnaA box region [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 1999
Using an electron microscopic method for visualizing interactions of the Escherichia coli DnaA protein with weak DnaA-binding DNA sequences, we found that DnaA binds effectively to two separated weak DnaA box regions located on the same DNA fragment. As expected, no DnaA-DNA interactions were detected when both DnaA box regions were mutagenized to the ...

Reduced translation of dnaA accounts for the downregulation of DnaA abundance at the onset of stationary phase.

open access: yes, 2015
(A) Modeled DnaA synthesis (blue) and dnaA translation (red) rates over the growth curve in wild type C. crescentus. Synthesis and translation rates were mathematically determined as described in the Materials and Methods.

Cryptocyanine‐Based Fluorescent Probes for DNA Detection: Controlling Solubility and Aggregation Through Side Chain Design

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 5, Issue 1, January 2026.
Cryptocyanine‐based fluorogenic DNA probes with improved water solubility and reduced aggregation were developed by tuning side‐chain polarity. The derivatives exhibit high fluorescence enhancement upon DNA binding, highlighting their potential as environment‐sensitive tools for nucleic acid detection and bioanalytical applications.
