Functionalized Biomimetic Scaffolds for Human‐Derived Auditory Neural Circuit Construction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In Vitro Auditory Circuit Model. ABSTRACT Damage to auditory circuits results in sensorineural hearing loss. However, the scarcity of human inner ear tissue significantly hinders the development of therapies to preserve auditory function, creating a critical need for reliable in vitro models.

Deficiency of orexin receptor type 1 in dopaminergic neurons increases novelty-induced locomotion and exploration

open access: yeseLife
Orexin signaling in the ventral tegmental area and substantia nigra promotes locomotion and reward processing, but it is not clear whether dopaminergic neurons directly mediate these effects.

Automating AI Discovery for Biomedicine Through Knowledge Graphs and Large Language Models Agents

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This work proposes a novel framework that automates biomedical discovery by integrating knowledge graphs with multiagent large language models. A biologically aligned graph exploration strategy identifies hidden pathways between biomedical entities, and specialized agents use this pathway to iteratively design AI predictors and wet‐lab validation ...

Ets96B required in dopaminergic neurons.

open access: yes, 2016
(A-C) Ets96B was knocked down throughout development (Ets96BRNAi1 or Ets96BRNAi2) specifically in dopaminergic neurons using the ple-GAL4 driver and the transcript level of genes (A) ple, (B) Vmat and (C) DAT was measured.

Driver Behavior Modeling with Subjective Risk‐Driven Inverse Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A subjective risk‐driven inverse reinforcement learning framework is proposed to model driver decision‐making. It infers drivers' risk perception and risk tolerance from driving data. A learnable risk threshold is used to regulate decisions, enabling interpretable and human‐like driving behavior decisions.

Identification of senescence‐related genes in Parkinson's disease reveals candidate therapeutic targets and pathological processes

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
At the genomic level, a large number of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and aging‐related DEGs have been screened. Ten hub genes, such as IFNγ and IRF7, have been identified and shown potential value in the diagnosis of PD, holding promise as novel biomarkers to facilitate early and precise diagnosis.

Crosstalk of parkin and Ret in dopaminergic neurons

open access: yesOncotarget, 2015
Recent genetic and functional studies have revealed striking similarities in the protein networks and molecular mechanisms altered in cancer and Parkinson's disease, as illustrated here for the converging signaling pathways of parkin and Ret [1]. These similarities may guide our thinking about potential therapies for both diseases.

Shotgun Metagenomic Profiling of the Gut Virome in Prodromal and Confirmed Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
We conducted a nested case‐control study within the Nurses’ Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow‐up Study to examine the role of the gut virome (GV) in Parkinson's disease (PD). We applied a novel metagenomic virome profiling approach, Bioinformatic Application for Quantification and Labeling of Viral taxonomy (BAQLaVa), to prospectively ...
