Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.

Responses of ectomycorrhizal fungi to changes in carbon and nutrient availability [PDF]
Ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi may receive 20% of the total C fixed by their host plants and are essential components of host nutrient acquisition. As a consequence of the vast physiological diversity that exists among ECM fungi, changes in community ...

ABSTRACT Objective Glioma recurrence severely impacts patient prognosis, with current treatments showing limited efficacy. Traditional methods struggle to analyze recurrence mechanisms due to challenges in assessing tumor heterogeneity, spatial dynamics, and gene networks.

ECM: chemoattraction but not adhesion [PDF]
The mechanisms that regulate 3-dimensional (3D) neutrophil chemotaxis are poorly understood. In this issue of Blood, Afonso et al demonstrate that the collagen receptor Discoidin domain receptor 2 (DDR2) promotes neutrophil chemotaxis in 3D by triggering matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) activity and the generation of chemotactic collagen peptides.

Finding ECM-friendly curves through a study of Galois properties [PDF]
In this paper we prove some divisibility properties of the cardinality of elliptic curves modulo primes. These proofs explain the good behavior of certain parameters when using Montgomery or Edwards curves in the setting of the elliptic curve method (ECM)

ABSTRACT Objective Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is one of the most debilitating and common muscular dystrophies. Despite its severity, no approved therapy exists for FSHD patients. However, several therapeutic candidates are currently under development, and some have recently entered clinical trials, marking the need for reliable ...

The attempt to restore homeostasis, once disrupted, such that complex signaling, crosstalk between ubiquitous proteins, and a diverse range of pathways gone awry is near impossible, especially in the presence of an ongoing pathogenic stimuli with ...

External loading determines specific ECM genes regulation [PDF]
Bio artificial matrices embedded with cells are simulated in bioreactors to facilitate ECM production. As cells attach, they develop forces, which are dependent on cell type and matrix stiffness.

An investigation of the Eigenvalue Calibration Method (ECM) using GASP for non-imaging and imaging detectors [PDF]
Polarised light from astronomical targets can yield a wealth of information about their source radiation mechanisms, and about the geometry of the scattered light regions.
