Multi‐Targeting Ligands as Prospective Therapeutics for Alzheimer's Disease, a Prevalent Neurodegenerative Disorder: Mechanistic Insights, Emerging Targets and Drug Discovery Campaigns

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, Volume 46, Issue 4, Page 1173-1229, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a debilitating neurodegenerative condition characterized by progressive cognitive impairment, memory deterioration, and neuronal dysfunction. Its complex pathophysiology involves multiple interlinked processes, including amyloid‐β (Aβ) aggregation, tau hyperphosphorylation, oxidative stress, neuroinflammation ...

Differential effects of lipid composition on the thermal and functional properties of membrane associated CYP2J2

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract CYP2J2 is a membrane‐bound cytochrome P450 that is expressed in cardiomyocytes, where it is known to metabolize arachidonic acid into cardioprotective epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs). It consists of transmembrane domains embedded in the hydrophobic segments of the cell membrane and surrounded by various lipids.

CYP2J2 overexpression increases EETs and protects against angiotensin II-induced abdominal aortic aneurysm in mice[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2013
Cytochrome P450 epoxygenase 2J2 (CYP2J2) metabolizes arachidonic acids to form epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs), which possess various beneficial effects on the cardiovascular system.

EPHX2 Orchestrates Intestinal Epithelial Barrier Repair in Ulcerative Colitis: An Integrated Multi‐Omics and Experimental Study

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 19, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study employed an integrated multi‐omics screening strategy incorporating GEO database differential expression analysis, GWAS‐eQTL genetic association analysis, and single‐cell RNA‐seq cell subpopulation localization to identify EPHX2 as a core causal gene in ulcerative colitis (UC).

Vitamin C activation of the biosynthesis of epoxyeicosatrienoic acids

open access: yesAdvances in Bioscience and Biotechnology, 2012
The cardiovascular effects of vitamin C (VitC) could be mediated by epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs). We aimed to study the mechanism of VitC-dependent microsomal formation of cis- and trans-EETs and the regulation of EET levels in rat isolated perfused kidneys and in vivo. VitC biphasically stimulated rat kidney microsomal cis- and trans-EET formation

Dysregulated Lipid Metabolism in Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Strategies

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 5, Issue 2, June 2026.
Dysregulated lipid metabolism facilitates hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development, progression, immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) formation, and therapeutic resistance. Notably, the patterns of lipid metabolism vary significantly among different types of HCC driven by various etiologies.

The simultaneous quantification of cytochrome P450 dependent linoleate and arachidonate metabolites in urine by HPLC-MS/MS

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2002
A method for the simultaneous quantification of urinary linoleic and arachidonic acid derived epoxides and diols, as well as the arachidonate omega hydroxylated product has been developed. The method employs negative mode electrospray ionization and HPLC
