The Conserved ESCRT-III Machinery Participates in the Phagocytosis of Entamoeba histolytica
The endosomal sorting complex required for transport (ESCRT) orchestrates cell membrane-remodeling mechanisms in eukaryotes, including endocytosis. However, ESCRT functions in phagocytosis (ingestion of ≥250 nm particles), has been poorly studied.

This study presents a DNA hydrogel‐mediated delivery system, in which ginsenoside (GS) molecules are incorporated into small extracellular vesicles (sEV) secreted by mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and the formed complexes are then anchored in DNA hydrogels via aptamer‐CD63 affinity as “GS/sEV@DNAgels”, to improve diabetic wound repair.

HD-PTP is a tumour suppressor phosphatase that controls endocytosis, down-regulation of mitogenic receptors and cell migration. Central to its role is the specific recruitment of critical endosomal sorting complexes required for transport (ESCRTs ...

Tumor metastasis results from complex interactions between cancer cells and mechanical microenvironments. We propose a “nucleus‐centered, cross‐stage mechanical signal decoding” model, highlighting how nuclear mechanosensors interpret forces at different stages.

From Adipose Tissue to Cardiac Repair: Extracellular Vesicles in Cardiovascular Regeneration
ABSTRACT Adipose‐derived extracellular vesicles (ADEVs) secreted by adipose tissue have gained increasing attention due to their regenerative and immunomodulatory properties in cardiovascular diseases. They carry proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids that mediate intercellular communication and influence cardiac pathophysiology. In atherosclerosis, ADEVs

Lem2p (LEM2) and Cmp7p (CHMP7) function in ESCRT-dependent nuclear envelope remodeling in fission yeast [PDF]
ESCRT‐III proteins have been implicated in sealing the nuclear envelope in mammals, both during nuclear assembly and following mechanical disruption. This sealing process requires the ESCRT‐II/ESCRT‐ III hybrid protein CHMP7 and the AAA ATPase VPS4.

The Hemoprotein Hhy1 Promotes Heme‐Dependent Catalase Activity of Ctt1
A Schizosaccharomyces pombe strain deficient in heme (hem1Δ) and siderophore (Fc) biosynthesis, as well as high‐affinity iron (Fe) uptake (blue), was used to uncover the hemoprotein Hhy1 that promotes the heme‐dependent activity of the catalase Ctt1. In contrast, hhy1Δ cells exhibit reduced Ctt1 activity and increased sensitivity to oxidative stress ...

Alix and VPS4A function in HBV biogenesis and degradation in the context of the endosomal and autophagic pathways. Alix and VPS4A orchestrate HBV secretion and degradation via endosomal and autophagic pathways. Under normal conditions, ESCRT ensures efficient virion budding and MVB formation.

Q&A: Cellular near death experiences-what is anastasis? [PDF]
Apoptosis is a form of programmed cell death that is carried out by proteolytic enzymes called caspases. Executioner caspase activity causes cells to shrink, bleb, and disintegrate into apoptotic bodies and has been considered a point of no return for ...

Assessing The Role Of Multi-protein Complexes In Determining Phenotype [PDF]
Understanding regulatory mechanisms in complex biological systems is an important challenge, in particular to understand disease mechanisms, and to discover new therapies and drugs. In this paper, we consider the important question of cellular regulation
