Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Xp54 and related (DDX6-like) RNA helicases : roles in messenger RNP assembly, translation regulation and RNA degradation [PDF]
The DEAD-box RNA helicase Xp54 is an integral component of the messenger ribonucleoprotein (mRNP) particles of Xenopus oocytes. In oocytes, several abundant proteins bind pre-mRNA transcripts to modulate nuclear export, RNA stability and translational ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Potentially virulence-related extracellular proteins of Streptococcus equi [PDF]
Equine strangles, a disease of the upper respiratory tract caused by the bacterium Streptococcus equi subspecies equi, is one of the most commonly diagnosed and serious diseases in horses. However, the molecular basis of S. equi subsp.

The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Proteomic Analysis of Low-Temperature Stress Response in Maize (Zea mays L.) at the Seedling Stage
Low temperature severely restricts maize seedling establishment and yield in northern China, but the proteomic basis of low-temperature tolerance in maize remains unclear. This study used TMT-labeled quantitative proteomics combined with data-independent

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

The impact of complement factor H-related protein gene deletions on kidney transplantation
ABSTRACT We recently reported that a homozygous deletion in the complement factor H-related ( CFHR) locus predisposed kidney transplant patients to rejection. As donors carried intact genes, the susceptibility may have resulted from alloimmune reaction to FHR proteins.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
