Our previous work showed that rats consuming 20% (wt/wt) lard diets selected more protein and less carbohydrate than did rats fed 20% (wt/wt) soybean oil diets. To determine if this effect is specific to saturated fat source and to measure changes in fatty acid composition of synaptosomal phospholipids, male Wistar rats were fed a 20% (wt/wt) soybean ...

Fatty acid and carotenoid composition of Rhodotorula strains
Archives of Microbiology, 1995Lipid content and composition of fatty acids with 6-25 carbon atoms were studied on strains of the 13 pink or red yeast species belonging to the genus Rhodotorula. The total amount of lipid represented an average of 13% of the dry weight. The neutral and polar lipid fractions were analyzed separately.

Fatty Acid Composition of Equine Plasma
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1981SUMMARY Fatty acid composition of plasma lipids of normal horses was determined. Four fatty acids (C16:0, C18:0, C18:1, and C18:2) comprised 86.73% of the total, with C18:2 comprising 44.04% of the total. Eight other fatty acids were found in small amounts. Unsaturated fatty acids constituted 66% of the total. Marked variation was demonstrated in fatty

Metabolism, 2000
Recent studies suggest that insulin sensitivity is related to the fatty acid composition of phospholipids in skeletal muscle (SM) membranes. Since it is difficult to obtain muscle biopsies, it may be useful to have information on the fatty acid composition using more accessible cells such as erythrocytes.

The composition of furan fatty acids in the crayfish
Lipids, 1988AbstractCapillary gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry (GC‐MS) analysis of the sterol ester fatty acid methyl esters of the crayfish hepatopancreas revealed the presence of at least 30 kinds of unusual furan fatty acids (F acids), which accounted for 28.49% of the total sterol ester fatty acids.

Fatty acid composition of developing soybeans

Fatty acid composition of equine erythrocytes
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1982SUMMARY Fatty acid composition of erythrocytes of healthy horses was determined. Three fatty acids (C16:0, C18:0, and C18:1) were found in approximately equal quantities and comprised 72.17% of the total. Nine other fatty acids were found in small amounts. Saturated fatty acids constituted 67.2% of the total.

Amino acid and fatty acid composition of cane molasses
Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1979AbstractCane molasses contain both protein and non‐protein amino acids and fatty acids. Gas chromatographic evidence is presented for aspartic and glutamic acids and alanine, being the major acids out of the 18 protein amino acids determined. Two unidentified N‐containing free acids, eluting faster than alanine and other protein amino acids on EGA ...
