Table1_Pan-cancer integrated bioinformatics analysis reveals cuproptosis related gene FDX1 is a potential prognostic and immunotherapeutic biomarker for lower-grade gliomas.DOCX

open access: yes, 2023
FDX1 participates in cuproptosis, a copper-dependent cell death mode, which might influence tumor progressions like ferroptosis and pyroptosis. However, the role of FDX1 in tumors remains to be explored.

Chlamydomonas reinhardtii Chloroplasts Contain a Homodimeric Pyruvate:Ferredoxin Oxidoreductase That Functions with FDX1     [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 2012
Abstract Eukaryotic algae have long been known to live in anoxic environments, but interest in their anaerobic energy metabolism has only recently gained momentum, largely due to their utility in biofuel production. Chlamydomonas reinhardtii figures remarkably in this respect, because it efficiently produces hydrogen and its genome ...

Table_1_Cuproptosis-related gene FDX1 expression correlates with the prognosis and tumor immune microenvironment in clear cell renal cell carcinoma.xlsx

open access: yes, 2022
BackgroundCuproptosis, a newly discovered form of cell death, is regulated by protein lipoylation and is related to mitochondrial metabolism. However, further research is needed to determine how the cuproptosis-related gene ferredoxin 1 (FDX1) affects ...

Elucidating Cuproptosis-Associated Genes in the Progression from Nash to HCC Using Bulk and Single-Cell RNA Sequencing Analyses and Experimental Validation

open access: yesMedicina, 2023
Background and Objectives: Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a significant risk factor for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development. Timely treatment during the NASH stage is essential to minimize the possibility of disease progression to HCC ...

Sanguinarine exerts anti-hepatocellular carcinoma activity by targeting FDX1 to induce FDX1/LIAS/DLAT/HSP70 axis-dependent cuproptosis

open access: yesActa Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the predominant type of primary liver cancer, represents an extremely aggressive malignancy. The induction of cuproptosis has developed into a favorable therapeutic direction for HCC, considering its strong association with HCC.

FDX1 serves as a prognostic biomarker and promotes glioma progression by regulating the immune response

open access: yesAging, 2023
The present study investigates the prognostic value of the FDX1 gene and its association with immune infiltration in gliomas. Gene expression profiles and corresponding clinical parameters of glioma patients were obtained from the Cancer Genome Atlas and Chinese Glioma Genome Atlas databases.

EP300‐Mediated MTF1‐K218 Lactylation Buffers AR‐Driven Copper Overload to Suppress Cuproptosis in Castration‐Resistant Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Androgen receptor (AR) drives copper accumulation in prostate cancer while inducing MTF1 to buffer copper toxicity. EP300‐mediated lactylation of MTF1 at K218 promotes its nuclear translocation and metallothionein expression, sequestering cytosolic copper and preventing mitochondrial cuproptosis.

DataSheet2_A novel prognostic signature of cuproptosis-related genes and the prognostic value of FDX1 in gliomas.CSV

open access: yes, 2022
Background: Gliomas are the most common malignant tumors of the central nervous system, with extremely bad prognoses. Cuproptosis is a novel form of regulated cell death. The impact of cuproptosis-related genes on glioma development has not been reported.
