Primary sclerosing cholangitis response to the combination of fibrates with ursodeoxycholic acid: French–Spanish experience

open access: yes, 2018
International audienceBACKGROUND & AIMS: In patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) treatment improves serum liver tests and surrogate markers of prognosis but has no proven effect on survival. Additional therapies

Monocyte dipeptidyl peptidase 4 activity is associated with urinary albumin excretion in type 2 diabetes

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
This study examined whether dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4) characteristics in peripheral blood monocytes relate to renal parameters. Monocyte DPP4 activity was independently associated with urinary albumin excretion in patients with type 2 diabetes, suggesting that monocytes may function as a cellular link between DPP4 and diabetic kidney disease ...

Use of fibrates in clinical practice: Queensland lipid group consensus recommendations

open access: yes, 2012
Background Fibrates have been prescribed for decades as `broad-spectrum' lipid modifying agents that can improve plasma levels of triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and triglyceride-rich lipoproteins, including very low-and intermediate-

Drug‐Induced Sialolithiasis—A Big‐Data Retrospective Study

open access: yesOral Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sialolithiasis pathophysiology is multifactorial, with systemic medications often hypothesised as a key contributor, particularly in older adults (Drug‐Induced Sialolithiasis). However, robust evidence supporting this theory is limited.

Role of fibrates in reducing coronary risk: a UK Consensus

open access: yes, 2004
This paper presents the consensus reached by a panel of experts on the role of fibrates in reducing coronary heart disease (CHD). The emphasis is on the application of these agents in clinical practice.

Cardiorenal Outcomes of Dapagliflozin vs. Empagliflozin in Advanced Chronic Kidney Disease and Diabetes

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 120, Issue 1, Page 168-177, July 2026.
Target trial emulation of a multi‐institutional electronic health record network showed comparable cardiorenal effectiveness and safety of dapagliflozin versus empagliflozin in adults with type 2 diabetes and advanced‐stage chronic kidney disease.

Fibred fibration categories [PDF]

open access: yes2017 32nd Annual ACM/IEEE Symposium on Logic in Computer Science (LICS), 2017
We introduce fibred type-theoretic fibration categories which are fibred categories between categorical models of Martin-Löf type theory. Fibred type-theoretic fibration categories give a categorical description of logical predicates for identity types. As an application, we show a relational parametricity result for homotopy type theory.

Chemical degradation kinetics of fibrates: bezafibrate, ciprofibrate and fenofibrate

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Fibrates are drugs used for the treatment of hypertriglyceridemia and for the prevention of atherosclerosis. Three drugs in the fibrate class, ciprofibrate, fenofibrate and bezafibrate, were chosen for this study because their raw materials are readily ...

Epoxy Clerodane Diterpene Attenuates the Differentiated Adipocyte Hypertrophy and Enhances Mitochondrial Metabolism

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 7, July 2026.
Epoxy Clerodane Diterpene (ECD) significantly reduces adipocyte hypertrophy and lipid accumulation in human mesenchymal stem cell (hMSC)‐derived adipocytes. ECD improves mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm), increases thermogenic regulators (UCP‐1, PPARγC1α), decreases adipogenic markers (C/EBPα, PPARγ), and reduces inflammatory mediators (TNF‐α, NF ...
