Fibroblast Activation Protein Expression Differs Between Inflamed and Fibrostenotic Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesJCC Plus, Volume 1, Issue 5, September 2026.
This study demonstrates that fibroblast activation protein expression is elevated in inflamed and fibrostenotic inflammatory bowel disease, with highest levels in fibrostenotic Crohn's disease. Cellular fibroblast activation protein predominates in inflamed tissues and localises to α‐SMA−PDPN−CD90+ stromal cells. ABSTRACT Background Intestinal fibrosis

Imaging the Tumor Microenvironment Beyond Anatomy: Functional, Immune, Stromal, and Metabolic Signatures for Precision Oncology

open access: yesiRADIOLOGY, Volume 4, Issue 4, Page 287-304, August 2026.
This article highlights the importance of imaging the tumor microenvironment (TME) beyond conventional anatomy‐based approaches to enable more precise oncology. It focuses on capturing key biological dimensions of tumors—vascular function and hypoxia, immune response, stromal remodeling, and metabolic activity—using advanced imaging techniques.

PET Imaging of Cardiac Inflammation in Viral Myocarditis Using a DPP4‐Targeted Probe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 38, 9 July 2026.
This study describes a DPP4‐targeted PET probe for imaging myocardial inflammation by selectively targeting activated immune cells. Derived from the clinically approved small‐molecule inhibitor linagliptin, the probe demonstrates favorable biodistribution with specific cardiac uptake in myocarditis.

A FAP‐Targeted SMDC Platform Enables Synergistic Radionuclide–Chemotherapy with PET‐Guided Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 36, 29 June 2026.
A fibroblast activation protein (FAP)‐targeted small molecule–drug conjugate (SMDC) platform is developed to integrate PET imaging with synergistic radionuclide–chemotherapy. Linker chemistry governs stability, exposure, and tolerability, with the VC linker providing superior in vivo performance.
