TGFβ1 activates c-Jun and Erk1 via αVβ6 integrin
Transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) plays an important role in animal development and many cellular processes. A variety of cellular functions that are required for tumor metastasis are controlled by integrins, a family of cell adhesion receptors ...

PEAR1 is highly expressed at bovine MDSC differentiation. However, its biological function remains unclear. Western blotting results showed that PEAR1 increased between day 0 and day 2 of cell differentiation and decreased from day 3.

Endothelin-1 stimulates tyrosine phosphorylation of p125 focal adhesion kinase in mesangial cells. [PDF]
Endothelin-1 (ET-1) is known to induce the contraction and proliferation of glomerular mesangial cells. Because ET-1 was found to stimulate the tyrosine phosphorylation of unidentified cellular proteins in cultured mesangial cells, protein tyrosine kinase might serve as one of the important signals leading to various functions of ET-1.

RIOK3 promotes pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cell invasion and metastasis by stabilizing FAK
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is an extremely aggressive cancer, characterized by a high metastatic burden. RIO Kinase 3 (RIOK3) has been shown to promote invasion and metastasis of PDAC by cytoskeleton remodeling, but the exact mechanism is ...

Canstatin inhibits hypoxia-induced apoptosis through activation of integrin/focal adhesion kinase/Akt signaling pathway in H9c2 cardiomyoblasts. [PDF]
A hypoxic stress which causes apoptosis of cardiomyocytes is the main problem in the ischemic heart disease. Canstatin, a non-collagenous fragment of type IV collagen α2 chain, is an endogenous anti-angiogenic factor.

Galectin-3 Overrides PTRF/Cavin-1 Reduction of PC3 Prostate Cancer Cell Migration. [PDF]
Expression of Caveolin-1 (Cav1), a key component of cell surface caveolae, is elevated in prostate cancer (PCa) and associated with PCa metastasis and a poor prognosis for PCa patients.

Role of the Ste20‐like kinase SLK in podocyte adhesion
SLK controls the cytoskeleton, cell adhesion, and migration. Podocyte‐specific deletion of SLK in mice leads to podocyte injury as mice age and exacerbates injury in experimental focal segment glomerulosclerosis (FSGS; adriamycin nephrosis).

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
