CONTAMINATION OF FOOD WITH Pb [PDF]

open access: yesAnalele Universităţii "Constantin Brâncuşi" din Târgu Jiu: Seria Inginerie, 2018
Lead is a chemical that does not affect the functioning of the human body and is toxic if it is in a high concentration. In plant products it concentrates on the leaves.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Implementation of the hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP) method to improve microbiological food safety in peri-urban Mali [PDF]

open access: yes
Diarrhoeal diseases remain a main cause of preventable death, particularly among children under five years of age in developing countries. In addition, many studies related to infant diarrhoea causation have demonstrated that the level of ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Advancement in Technologies and Practices to Control Listeria monocytogenes Contamination within the Food Processing Environment

open access: yesNigerian Postgraduate Medical Journal
In the expanding food processing environment, humans still face risks from certain harmful organisms that cause food contamination. One such ubiquitous organism is Listeria monocytogenes (L.

Food Contaminants – Viruses

open access: yesJournal of Food Protection, 1981
Viruses have been detected in a limited number of foods. Although methods used to examine these foods were usually restricted to detection of human enteroviruses, animal viruses were found in some meats, milk, and eggs; limitations in methodology may have caused other viruses present to go undetected.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Probabilistic model for contamination of egg dishes with Salmonella spp. made from shell eggs produced on the island of Ireland

open access: yes, 2009
A quantitative model was constructed to estimate the probability that a serving of food containing eggs produced on the island of Ireland is contaminated with Salmonella spp.
