The selectivity and specificity of autophagy in drosophila [PDF]
Autophagy is a process of cellular self-degradation and is a major pathway for elimination of cytoplasmic material by the lysosomes. Autophagy is responsible for the degradation of damaged organelles and protein aggregates and therefore plays a ...

Autophagic Network Analysis of the Dual Effect of Sevoflurane on Neurons Associated with GABARAPL1 and 2 [PDF]
Background. Sevoflurane is commonly used as a general anesthetic in neonates to aged patients. Preconditioning or postconditioning with sevoflurane protects neurons from excitotoxic injury. Conversely, sevoflurane exposure induces neurotoxicity during early or late life.

A large variety of chemistry‐based ubiquitin probes have been developed. ABSTRACT Ubiquitin (Ub) and ubiquitin‐like proteins (Ubls) orchestrate diverse cellular processes through reversible post‐translational modification of target proteins. Their conjugation is governed by a cascade of E1 activating, E2 conjugating, and E3 ligating enzymes, while ...

Identification of Hub Genes and Typing of Tuberculosis Infections Based on Autophagy-Related Genes
Tuberculosis (TB) caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis is one of the leading causes of morbidity and death in humans worldwide. Some autophagy genes associated with TB and some miRNAs regulating TB have been found, but the identification of autophagy ...

GABARAPL1 suppresses metastasis by counteracting PI3K/Akt pathway in prostate cancer
Metastasis remains the primary cause of prostate cancer (CaP)-related death. Using a genome wide shRNA screen, we identified GABARAPL1 as a potential CaP metastasis suppressor. GABARAPL1 mRNA levels inversely correlate with the invasive potential of a panel of human CaP cell lines.

GABARAPL1 Negatively Regulates Wnt/β-catenin Signaling by Mediating Dvl2 Degradation through the Autophagy Pathway [PDF]
Wnt signaling is critical for many biological processes and is tightly regulated. In this study, we found that GABARAPL1 (GABA(A) receptor-associated protein like 1, GABARAPL1) interacts with Dvl2 by both yeast two-hybrid screening and immunoprecipitation experiments.

Macroautophagy (hereafter referred to as autophagy) is a highly conserved self‑digestion process that is critical for maintaining homeostasis in response to various stresses. The autophagy‑related protein family, including the GABA type A receptor‑associated protein (GABARAP) and microtubule‑associated protein 1 light chain 3 subfamilies, is crucial ...

Gene expression profile and signaling pathways in MCF-7 breast cancer cells mediated by acyl-CoA synthetase 4 overexpression [PDF]
Aim: Breast cancer comprises a heterogeneous group of diseases that vary in morphology, biology, behavior and response to therapy. Previous studies have identified an acyl-CoA synthetase 4 (ACSL4) gene-expression pattern correlated with very aggressive ...
