T cells, the next big target in axSpA?

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by complex immune dysregulation, with T cells playing a central role in its pathogenesis. In this review we synthesize current knowledge on diverse T cell subsets in axSpA, their pathogenic mechanisms, and emerging therapeutic strategies targeting these cells.

Unraveling the role of γδ T cells in the pathogenesis of an oncogenic avian herpesvirus

open access: yesmBio
Marek’s disease virus (MDV) is an oncogenic alphaherpesvirus that causes deadly lymphomas in chickens. In chickens, up to 50% of all peripheral T cells are gamma delta (γδ) T cells.

A reinforcing circuit action of extrasynaptic GABAA receptor modulators on cerebellar granule cell inhibition. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
GABAA receptors (GABARs) are the targets of a wide variety of modulatory drugs which enhance chloride flux through GABAR ion channels. Certain GABAR modulators appear to acutely enhance the function of δ subunit-containing GABAR subtypes responsible for ...

Influence of Carboxylate Ligand Variation on Structure, Magnetic Exchange, and Magnetocaloric Performance in Hexanuclear Gd(III) Complexes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hexanuclear cyclic Gd(III) coordination compounds are promising candidates for magnetic and magnetocaloric applications, yet systematic series remain rare due to synthetic challenges. We report the synthesis and characterization of five new complexes with the general formula [Gd(H3bt)(carboxylate)]6, employing four different carboxylate ...

Mature T‐cell leukemia/lymphoma with an NK‐like immunophenotype: A report of 7 cases

open access: yesCytometry Part B: Clinical Cytometry, EarlyView.
Abstract Distinguishing T‐cell from NK‐cell neoplasms can occasionally be challenging, as neoplastic T cells can lose T‐cell markers such as surface CD3 (sCD3) and CD5 while acquiring NK‐cell markers such as CD16, CD56, and CD94. In this study, we present a series of 7 mature T‐cell lymphoma/leukemia cases with NK‐like immunophenotypes to clarify ...

γδ T Cell‐mediated Tumor Immunity is Tightly Regulated by STING and TGF‐β Signaling Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science
The STING pathway plays a critical role in tumor immunosurveillance. However, the precise mechanisms by which STING regulates gamma delta (γδ) T cell function during tumor progression remain unclear.

The Role of Gamma-Delta T Cells in Diseases of the Central Nervous System

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2020
Gamma-delta (γδ) T cells are a subset of T cells that promote the inflammatory responses of lymphoid and myeloid lineages, and are especially vital to the initial inflammatory and immune responses.

A természetes immunitás szabályozási zavarainak hatása a terhesség kimenetelére = The effect of disturbed regulation of innate immunity on the outcome of pregnancy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Ismert, hogy a terhesség egészséges kiviseléséhez az immunrendszer lokális aktivációja és a terhes méh trophoblaszt sejtjein kifejeződő magzati antigének felismerése szükséges.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids in the pathogenesis and treatment of multiple sclerosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Epidemiological, biochemical, animal model and clinical trial data described in this overview strongly suggest that polyunsaturated fatty acids, particularly n-6 fatty acids, have a role in the pathogenesis and treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS).

Support‐Driven Hydrogen Migration Enhances Ammonia Decomposition in Direct Ammonia Protonic Ceramic Fuel Cells

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Enhanced hydrogen species migration enabled by FN/BZY catalyst mitigates intermediate accumulation and improves DA‐PCFC performance during ammonia decomposition. Ammonia, with its high hydrogen density and carbon‐free nature, serves as ideal fuel for direct ammonia protonic ceramic fuel cells (DA‐PCFCs).
