PCR amplification, sequencing, and in silico analysis of holandric genes TSPYand SRY in Nili Ravi buffalo

open access: yesIndian Journal of Animal Sciences
The present work has been designed to study the evolutionary perspectives of two important holandric genes, namely, testis-specific protein, Y-encoded (TSPY), and sex determining region, Y-encoded (SRY) in Nili Ravi buffalo.

SRY-related genes in the genome of the rice field eel (Monopterus albus)

open access: yesGenetics Selection Evolution, 2002
The mammalian sex determining gene, SRY, is the founding member of the new growing family of Sox (SRY-like HMG-box gene) genes. Sox genes encode transcription factors with diverse roles in development, and a few of them are involved in sex determination ...

Packed for Ossification: High‐Density Bioprinting of hPDC Spheroids in HAMA Toward Endochondral Ossification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Human periosteum‐derived cell spheroids bioprinted at high density within a hyaluronic acid matrix promote fusion and hypertrophic cartilage formation in vitro. Early encapsulation enhances spheroid interaction and matrix maturation, generating scalable cartilage templates intended for endochondral bone regeneration.

Specificity of Key Sex Determination Genes in a Mammal with Ovotestes: The European Mole Talpa europaea

open access: yesAnimals
Here, for the first time, the structure of genes involved in sex determination in mammals (full Sry and partial Rspo1, Eif2s3x, and Eif2s3y) was analyzed for the European mole Talpa europaea with ovotestes in females.

New insights into SRY regulation through identification of 5' conserved sequences [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Background: SRY is the pivotal gene initiating male sex determination in most mammals, but how its expression is regulated is still not understood. In this study we derived novel SRY 5' flanking genomic sequence data from bovine and caprine genomic BAC ...

Recapitulating Endochondral Ossification for Bone Repair: From Development to Engineering Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the developmental basis of endochondral ossification (ECO) and its applications in bone tissue engineering (BTE). It first outlines the key biological processes and signaling pathways underlying ECO, then discusses biomaterial‐based engineering strategies derived from these principles, and finally highlights future directions for

Impact of Janus Kinase Inhibition with Tofacitinib on Fundamental Processes of Bone Healing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Both inflammatory diseases like rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and anti-inflammatory treatment of RA with glucocorticoids (GCs) or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) negatively influence bone metabolism and fracture healing.

Restoring Iron Homeostasis via Smoothened Inhibition: A Novel Strategy Against Hearing Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
. ABSTRACT Sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) induced by noise or aminoglycoside antibiotics is a significant public health concern without any FDA‐approved pharmaceutical therapies. Dysregulation of iron homeostasis and its subsequently induced ferroptosis has increasingly been identified as a key mechanism underlying cochlear hair cell (HC) damage ...
