Anti‐Inflammatory and Neuroactive Effects of Polymer‐Coated Iron Oxide Nanoparticles Functionalized With Interleukin 4 for Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Polymer‐coated IONPs functionalized with IL‐4 display respective neuroactive and anti‐inflammatory actions on neural progenitor cells and macrophages/microglia in vitro. When examined chronically in a rat experimental model of spinal cord injury, rGO scaffolds carrying these nanosystems adequately integrate into the lesion, significantly reduce ...

MGAT4A/Galectin9‐Driven N‐Glycosylation Aberration as a Promoting Mechanism for Poor Prognosis of Endometrial Cancer with TP53 Mutation

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Emerging evidence recognizes aberrant glycosylation as the malignant characteristics of cancer cells, but little is known about glycogenes’ roles in endometrial carcinoma (EC), especially the most aggressive subtype carrying TP53 mutations.

Hemocompatible Glycogen‐Tissue Plasminogen Activator Complexes for Enhanced Blood Clot Dissolution

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Glycogen–heparin‐cRGD nanoparticles enable targeted delivery of tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) to thrombi through activated platelet recognition. The hemocompatible hybrids minimize interactions with blood and immune cells while retaining enzymatic biodegradability.

Modeling Early Metastatic Progression in Breast Cancer Using a Barrier‐Free, Perfusable Spheroid‐on‐a‐Chip Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Open‐port, barrier‐free microfluidic device for modeling early metastatic progression. A centrally positioned tumor spheroid releases invasive cells that migrate through the surrounding matrix and intravasate into endothelialized lateral channels.

Antihyperuricemic effect of mangiferin aglycon derivative J99745 by inhibiting xanthine oxidase activity and urate transporter 1 expression in mice

open access: yesActa Pharmaceutica Sinica B, 2018
A mangiferin aglycon derivative J99745 has been identified as a potent xanthine oxidase (XOD) inhibitor by previous in vitro study. This study aimed to evaluate the hypouricemic effects of J99745 in experimental hyperuricemia mice, and explore the ...

Bone Organoids Across the Development‐to‐Remodeling Continuum: From Tissue Formation to Functional Competence and Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Mineralization alone does not establish a mature bone organoid. This Review integrates biological foundations, materials design, adaptive remodeling, and translational validation through the development‐to‐remodeling continuum (DRC). By separating biological functions from the evidence supporting them, the framework exposes critical gaps in current ...

Negative regulation of syntaxin4/SNAP-23/VAMP2-mediated membrane fusion by Munc18c In Vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Background: Translocation of the facilitative glucose transporter GLUT4 from an intracellular store to the plasma membrane is responsible for the increased rate of glucose transport into fat and muscle cells in response to insulin.

Bioprinted Stiffness‑Tunable Pancreatic Microniches to Decode Early Tumor Initiation Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Stiffness‐tunable GelMA microniches generated by microvalve bioprinting preserve wild‐type acinar identity while revealing a nonlinear, Kras‐dependent response to matrix mechanics. Intermediate stiffness promotes acinar‐to‐ductal metaplasia and proliferation, defining a permissive mechanical window.

Lactobacillus paracasei N1115 alleviates hyperuricemia in mice: regulation of uric acid metabolism as well as its impact on gut microbiota and short-chain fatty acids

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition
Hyperuricemia (HUA) is a worldwide metabolic disorder characterized by abnormally elevated serum uric acid (SUA) levels, and recent studies suggest that probiotics have potential in mitigating HUA.

Magnesium Sulfate Enhances Glucose Transporter-3

open access: yes, 2012
[[abstract]]Although our previous studies demonstrated that magnesium sulfate increased extracellular glucose levels during short-term forced swimming in gerbils, a complete understanding of the effects of magnesium sulfate on glucose levels remains ...
