Astrocytic PCBP1 Suppresses Ferroptosis to Restore Glutamatergic Homeostasis and Mitigate Stress‐Induced Depression in Male Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a critical psychiatric illness with significant societal implications. The exact molecular mechanisms underlying MDD, specifically concerning cellular iron metabolism and ferroptosis, remain inadequately characterized ...

Vascularized Liver‐on‐a‐Microsphere Reveals Alanine‐Glucose Metabolism‐Driven Regulation of Liver Function and Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A vascularized liver‐on‐a‐microsphere system is developed to recreate lobule‐like cellular organization and endothelial barrier function within compartmentalized hydrogel particles. The platform enhances hepatic performance and reveals alanine‐glucose cycle activation linked to improved detoxification capacity, offering a high‐throughput microscale ...

REGγ Suppresses Ferroptosis and Induces Drug Resistance by Degrading WDR6 in Chondrosarcoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here, we identified REGγ as a susceptibility factor in chondrosarcoma. Our study demonstrates that abnormally activated REGγ‐20S proteasome promotes chondrosarcoma development and progression. Further validation in animal models revealed that blocking REGγ function induced ferroptosis, suppressed malignant progression of chondrosarcoma, and uncovered a

Lactate‐Driven Restriction of Mitochondrial Permeability Transition Promotes Resistance to Chemo‐Immunotherapy by Suppressing Tumor PANoptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tumor‐derived lactate establishes a metabolic lock that drives chemo‐immunotherapy resistance by suppressing PANoptosis. Mechanistically, KAT8 lactylates the mitochondrial translocator ANT2, which recruits PGAM5 to dephosphorylate CypD. This cascade restricts mitochondrial permeability transition pore opening, preventing pro‐inflammatory mtDNA leakage.

Nanozyme‐Reinforced miR‐197‐3p Delivery Resets Metabolic and Senescence Pathways to Rejuvenate Osteoarthritic Cartilage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Osteoarthritis (OA) is a progressive and disabling joint disease driven by oxidative stress, chondrocyte senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation, yet lacks effective disease‐modifying treatments. In this study, we identified miR‐197‐3p as a previously unrecognized, cartilage‐protective miRNA significantly downregulated in both ...

Neuroprotective effect of L-cycloprolylglycine on models neuronal cells damage in vitro

open access: yesФармакокинетика и Фармакодинамика, 2017
We have studied neuroprotective effect of L-cycloprolylglycine (L-CPG) in vitro experiments. It is shown that L-CPG has neuroprotective effect in the conditions an oxidative stress, glutamate and 6-hydroxydopamine toxicity.

Targeting Astrocytic Connexin 43 Mitigates Glutamate-Driven Motor Neuron Stress in Late-Onset Spinal Muscular Atrophy

open access: yesCells
5q-associated Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a hereditary neuromuscular disorder caused by mutations in the survival of motor neuron 1 (SMN1) gene, leading to progressive muscle weakness, and atrophy.

Recent progress in the discovery of small molecules for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2013
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disorder with few therapeutic options. While several gene mutations have been implicated in ALS, the exact cause of neuronal dysfunction is unknown and motor neurons of affected individuals

Possible Mechanism of Aframomum Sceptrum Extracts Mediated Modulation of Renal Function after Monosodium Glutamate Exposure

open access: yesGalician Medical Journal, 2019
The objective of the research was to explain the possible mechanism of an earlier reported role of Aframomum sceptrum extract in the modulation of renal function parameters in monosodium glutamate-induced toxicity.
