Hepatic endothelial Alk1 signaling protects from development of vascular malformations while maintaining organ‐specific endothelial differentiation and angiocrine portmanteau of the names Wingless and Int‐1 signaling. Abstract Background and Aims In hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), severe liver vascular malformations are associated with ...

An intracellular magneto‐mechanical platform utilizing MSC‐targeted nanomotors is developed. After intra‐articular delivery, these nanomotors target endogenous BMSCs and are actuated within lysosomes to execute trans‐planar rotational‐bouncing motions under a rotating‐fluctuating 3D magnetic field, generating amplified mechanical stimulation.

We report plate‐based coupled assays to rapidly and quantitatively determine the activity and selectivity of mucin‐active carbohydrate sulfatases. This fluorogenic assay further enables inhibitor identification and allows determination of (sub‐)cellular location. ABSTRACT Sulfated glycans play a central role in human health and influence cell signaling,

Glycosaminoglycans in the tongue of birds
We examined the literature to verify whether adaptations and modifications in the structure and glandular secretions of birds' tongues are related to habitat and can be ascribed to evolutionary processes. The data are discussed in relation to species taxonomy, following the Sibley and Ahlquist classification [C. G. Sibley and J. E.

Glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans: Overlooked entities?
Background: By virtue of their high net negative charge, glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans play pivotal roles in biologic processes such as cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, sequestration of growth factors, activation of chemokines and cytokines,

Glycosaminoglycans, albuminuria and hydrocarbon exposure
The value of the glycosaminoglycans (GAG) determination in urine was examined in a population of hydrocarbon-exposed workers and compared to the usefulness of the fractional albumin clearance (FAC).

Mechanical Activation of Piezo1 Drives Osteoarthritis Through Kdm5c‐Mediated Epigenetic Silencing
Excessive mechanical stress activates Piezo1, triggering Ca2+‐dependent cytoskeletal forces that deform the nucleus and reduce H3K4me3. Kdm5c demethylates H3K4me3 at Col2a1 and Runx3 promoters. Kdm5c knockout rescues degradation. Repurposed telmisartan directly inhibits Kdm5c, blocking this axis and showing disease‐modifying efficacy in mouse OA models

This study introduces a biomimetic “nanofusion” platform that integrates the biostability of threose nucleic acids (TNA) with homotypic cell‐membrane cloaking to combat drug‐resistant TNBC. By leveraging a non‐canonical membrane‐fusion pathway for direct cytosolic delivery, the platform bypasses endosomal sequestration. To achieve potent AKT2 silencing
