Langat Virus Biology and Infection

open access: yesReviews in Medical Virology, Volume 36, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Flaviviruses pose a major threat to global health and can cause severe disease in animals and humans. Among them, tick‐borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) and related members of the tick‐borne encephalitis (TBE) serocomplex are transmitted primarily by ticks and can lead to neurological disease, including encephalitis and death. Despite many years

Increased expression of interleukin (IL)-6 family members and receptors in urinary bladder with cyclophosphamide (CYP)-induced bladder inflammation in female rats

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2011
Recent studies suggest that JAK-STAT signaling pathways contribute to increased voiding frequency and referred pain of CYP-induced cystitis in rats. Potential upstream chemical mediator(s) that may be activated by CYP-induced cystitis to stimulate JAK ...

Blood Based Biomarkers for Predicting Treatment Response to Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors After EGFR‐TKI Resistance in Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 6, March 2026.
In EGFR‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer, immune checkpoint inhibitors generally show limited efficacy. By integrating plasma proteomics and tumor immunohistochemistry, we identified biomarkers associated with durable clinical benefit and progression‐free survival following immunotherapy.

Deficiency of the Immunoproteasome LMP10 Subunit Attenuates Angiotensin II-Induced Cardiac Hypertrophic Remodeling via Autophagic Degradation of gp130 and IGF1R

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2020
Background/AimHypertensive cardiac hypertrophy is the leading cause of cardiac remodeling and heart failure. We recently demonstrated that the immunoproteasome, an inducible form of the constitutive proteasome, plays a critical role in regulating ...

Transcytosis of IL-11 and Apical Redirection of gp130 Is Mediated by IL-11α Receptor

open access: yesCell Reports, 2016
Interleukin (IL)-11 signaling is involved in various processes, including epithelial intestinal cell regeneration and embryo implantation. IL-11 signaling is initiated upon binding of IL-11 to IL-11R1 or IL-11R2, two IL-11α-receptor splice variants, and ...

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 2, Page 226-247, February 2026.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

Pharmacological inactivation of a non-canonical gp130 signaling arm attenuates chronic systemic inflammation and multimorbidity induced by a high-fat diet

open access: yesScientific Reports
Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a major pro-inflammatory cytokine that demonstrates a robust correlation with age and body mass index (BMI) as part of the senescence-associated secretory phenotype. IL-6 cytokines also play a crucial role in metabolic homeostasis

Bazedoxifene as a Potential Cancer Therapeutic Agent Targeting IL-6/GP130 Signaling

open access: yesCurrent Oncology
Targeting the interleukin-6 (IL-6)/glycoprotein 130 (GP130) signaling pathway holds significant promise for cancer therapy given its essential role in the survival and progression of various cancer types.

Glycoprotein 130 Cytokine Signal as a Therapeutic Target Against Cardiovascular Diseases

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2011
.: Postnatal cardiomyocytes have only limited capacity of proliferation. Therefore, the myocardium is intrinsically equipped with cardioprotective machineries and protects itself from pathological stresses.

A structural template for gp130-cytokine signaling assemblies

open access: yesBiochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Molecular Cell Research, 2002
The gp130-cytokine system has been fertile ground for protein structure-function studies aimed at elucidating the basis of ligand recognition and receptor activation. A number of longstanding questions involve the mechanism of the stepwise assembly of the active signaling complexes, as well as the structure of the gp130-cytokine complexes.
