Proteolytic mapping of heat shock transcription factor domains [PDF]
AbstractHeat shock transcription factors (HSFs) of higher eukaryotes respond to physical and cellular stress signals by tri‐merizing, binding to a specific site on DNA, and transactivating genes encoding the heat shock proteins. In this work, limited proteolysis was used as a biochemical probe of the domain organization of Drosophila HSF.

Phosphorylation of Drosophila heat shock transcription factor
The role that phosphorylation plays in regulating heat shock factor (HSF) function and activity has been the subject of several studies. Here, we demonstrate that Drosophila melanogaster HSF (DmHSF) is a phosphoprotein that is multiply phosphorylated at some sites and is dephosphorylated at others upon heat shock.

Complex Regulation of the Yeast Heat Shock Transcription Factor [PDF]
The yeast heat shock transcription factor (HSF) is regulated by posttranslational modification. Heat and superoxide can induce the conformational change associated with the heat shock response. Interaction between HSF and the chaperone hsp70 is also thought to play a role in HSF regulation.

Genome-wide transcriptional profiles during temperature and oxidative stress reveal coordinated expression patterns and overlapping regulons in rice. [PDF]
Genome wide transcriptional changes by cold stress, heat stress and oxidative stress in rice seedlings were analyzed. Heat stress resulted in predominant changes in transcripts of heat shock protein and heat shock transcription factor genes, as well as ...

Modulation of tolerance by mutant heat shock transcription factors [PDF]
It ought to be possible to recruit normal cellular defenses to mitigate ischemia/reperfusion damage and to reduce toxicity of chemotherapeutic drugs. Stress-preconditioned cells acquire a tolerant state characterized by increased resistance to such insults. This state is widely believed to be mediated, partially, by heat shock proteins (Hsps). Indirect

Heat shock stimulation of a tilapia heat shock protein 70 promoter is mediated by a distal element [PDF]
peer reviewedWe reported previously that a tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus) heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) promoter is able to confer heat shock response on a reporter gene after transient expression both in cell culture and in microinjected zebrafish ...
