Whole‐genome analysis of 1,054 chickens reveals three ancestral sources (NWC, SYA, and SHF) with distinct temporal entry patterns into the Tibetan Plateau. Route‐specific selection scans, calibrated against a demographic null, suggest complementary functional enrichments—vascular homeostasis (NWC), calcium signaling and cardiac adaptation (SYA), and ...

Slow‐transit constipation (STC) is a disabling motility disorder with unclear smooth‐muscle mechanisms. Spatial proteomic analysis of STC patient colon reveals both the central pathogenic role of smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in STC and novel regulators of intestinal motility, BIN1 and ALDH1B1.

Transferrin receptor 2 is crucial for iron sensing in human hepatocytes
Hepcidin expression in vivo is regulated in proportion to iron status (i.e., increased by iron loading and decreased in iron deficiency). However, in vitro studies with hepatoma cell lines often show an inverse relationship between iron status and ...

TRAIL Dependent Fratricidal Killing of gp120 Primed Hepatocytes by HCV Core Expressing Hepatocytes [PDF]
The mechanism by which HIV and HCV cooperatively accelerate hepatocyte damage is not clearly understood; however, each virus affects the TRAIL: TRAIL- receptor system.

Sepsis‐associated encephalopathy (SAE) lacks effective therapies. We developed ME@FDsi, a biomimetic nanodrug using a tetrahedral framework nucleic acid to deliver disulfiram and siTNFα. It crosses the blood‐brain barrier, targets M1 microglia, inhibits pyroptosis and inflammation, and scavenges ROS.

Hepatic HDGF as a key mediator in coordinating hepatic steatosis and intrahepatic crosstalk in MASLD. Activation of HDGF facilitates its interaction with both STAT3 and S6K1, driving the S6K1‐dependent STAT3 phosphorylation and subsequently enhancing hepatic lipogenesis.

Requirement of Activation for Hepatitis B Virus Infection
Although _in vitro_ models of human hepatitis B virus replication are established, so far none could approximate infection efficiency as expected from _in vivo_ observations.

An optimized ex vivo human liver slice culture system preserves tissue architecture, hepatocyte function, and immune‐stromal complexity for at least five days. By refining slice thickness, oxygenation, air‐liquid interface, and extracellular matrix support, the platform enables human‐relevant hepatotoxicity testing and mechanistic studies, offering a ...
